Nothing wrong with high gloss black guitars. My first decent electric guitar was a US Fender strat, which I bought in 1999. I still have it and it's one of my favourite guitars. I did add blended wiring, as it happens and a callaham bridge and it's a great playing guitar. What some say looks cheap, to my mind looks classic and classy. Each to their own.

It's amazing how much better the blue ones looks.
Or like Ibanez calls it: Antique Turquoise Gloss

No no, Henning, the AHM is a completely different Ibanez finish.

    The intro demo is great!!
But hearing your comments further in your review..
Would you pick the Az2204n over this one? All the demos of the Az2203n seem to sound wooly, strident and thin..
I'm disappointed because I prefer the pick up configuration of this one.
Maybe the Tom Quayle signature (with the mini humbucker) would be the best out the bunch in the Ibanez range..?

It’s amazing that after so long with that style guitar people still find funky wiring and pickup styles to put another spin on it.

Enjoyed the plexi tones. For that price, each pickup should sound fantastic on its own.

I’m digging the tone you were getting during the jam. The fluorescent costume was hurting my eyes though…..

There was a time when I was walking into a guitar store and I could easily spot an Ibanez from the door already. These times are gone.
When you once fell into a pot of gold because you had a concept of swimming against the stream ... and once you find yourself right in the middle of the mainstream ...
    Then you've lost it all.

7.5 lbs is not bad, or is it for a strat. I generally consider anything under 8lbs (3.63 kg) good. What do you consider a best weight for a S-Type?

    • @Ndlanding
      @Ndlanding Год назад +1

Hello! Since the German-type obviously doesn't give a flying fuck, I'll attempt to answer your question. About 3kg is fine, but sometimes you get some rich tones from only a heavier strat. As for LPs, add a kilo or so, and get some serious shoulder grief if you are, er, older..

I love it but for the price tag, I like the JV Modified Fender neck better, its not a blend knob but push pull gets the same job done. Same kind of locking tuners which I like, its not roasted maple or rosewood or steel frets. And its basswood which is a fine wood I dont care what people like to complain about, its as good as any alder body. So thats why it would be about $1k cheaper, but it sounds and plays great, and I prefer the neck I like a chunky neck. But this one is very tempting. Very tempting. And made in the same factory.. This Ibanez, FGN, and Fender all made in the same factory. This one is very tempting.. But I think the Fujigen Fender JV Modified is a better “working horse”.. Push pull will do the same as the blend knob.

You should just take up indoors smoking. It's not great for your health or amp, but it will make your pickguard a beautiful cream color within months.

It looks good (better in blue I agree) but I prefer the other model that Henning has behind him (the other blue one with the HB in the bridge). I would not turn down either though.

Does the guitar look cheap because of the poly finish job it has whic looks like inexpensive guitar has( like a cheap plastic look) or do you just not like black? My 82 Fender Black Strat does not look cheap but it has the classic Eric Clapton look. You did not mention if it has a nitro finish?
What amp are using, it sounds solid state. Have you tried reducing the treble knob to remove some ice pick? If you are using a amp, it sounds like the mic is in the center of the speaker which it should not be.

I'd go with the F word. If only for misspelling my surname for decades; hence having The World saying it wrong...
Also; you can buy pre-wired harnesses that would do the same thing to any Strat. Around 80€...
    Great guitars though...
    Nice video too.
    Big love from Spain.

Fair...its always a miss for someone, nothing wrong with that. Plenty of stuff that is a miss for me too for sure. This is actually the kind of thing i am happy to see, i love Ibanez but nit their lack of single-coil options. Now...will i run out and buy one of these? No, i will not. But...will i buy one in a couple of years when i stumble across one used at a good price? Yeah...there is a fair chance that i will :)

Just what the world needs, yet another iteration of the most copied guitar in the world. That said, it doesn't sound bad to me, it sounded best through the Marshall and the Morgan, otherwise it was a bit too pointy for my taste. I have a few of those 3-pickup S-type guitars and one in black, with the white pickguard, I've no need to buy another just for a blend control, though I do like the functionality of that option.

    • @rodolphep0nthus555
