Breaks my heart when I hear ‘Australia doesn’t want it”, I’m Australian I am white Australian and I want it, truly horrified at the behaviour of our fans there is no excuse and should be no place for it full stop. I have not seen the treatment of first nations living my whole life in Sydney but I certainly heard stories and references in the 80s, I’m sorry for my ignorance but I just don’t associate with people that think like that and the fact that this level of hate is still happening in our country in 2022 is mind blowing and bloody disgraceful.. when will we learn its never ok… Thank you Eddie for continuing the conversation, your smile was exact why you were a favourite of mine to watch on the field I was always so excited to get a chance to watch you play, even if ya bet us, those with hate in their hearts will never feel the love you have in yours ❤

Aside from one of the best footballers I have ever had the pleasure to see Eddie is just one of the nicest, intelligent and articulate personalities in media. Respect mate.

Eddie just as gracious off the field as on the field, I am a crows supporter and was glad to see Eddie go back to the club that gave him the start of his career for his last year as a player. Prejudice is all around us, from all races.

Eddie been getting special treatment for so long that anything less must be 'discrimination' or 'trauma'. Guy can barely string a sentence together but is given lucrative media jobs immediately after retiring. He will never be happy

I would like Mr. Betts to name and shame the public swimming pool that allegedly removed him because of his skin colour.
I would like to hear their side of the story because I find it utterly hard to believe that a business would so blatantly expose itself to potential public excoriation and litigation.
Mr Betts has said that some kids said he made them feel uncomfortable and was thus asked to leave the pool.
What are ALL the details of this incident?
    I smell a rat.

Horrific headline that focuses on one part and missed the whole point of this interview.

I think the fact that he and so many people face ongoing racism is horrific, not the headline...
