HH Sheikha Moza's Remarks at the Intl Day to Protect Education from Attack 2021

‎شهد العام 2020 ما يقارب من 2400 هجمة على التعليم، مما يعكس زيادة بأكثر من 30% مقارنة بعام 2019. وذلك على الرغم من انتشار الوباء والدعوة إلى وقف إطلاق نار شامل.
‎في اليوم الدولي الثاني لحماية التعليم من الهجمات، انضمّت صاحبة السمو إلى قادة العالم للدعوة إلى وضع حد لهذا التدمير الشنيع للأرواح والمجتمعات، إذ يتعمّد المعتدون تجريد الناس من تاريخهم وإرثهم الثقافي، وقد شدّدت سموها على وجوب أن يتحمّل المعتدون على التعليم مسؤولية أفعالهم ودفع ثمن الضرر الذي يتسببون فيه.
التعليم هو أساس بناء السلام من أجل مستقبل أفضل ومن الواجب حمايته.
There were nearly 2400 attacks on education in 2020; a more than 30 per cent increase on the previous year. And that is despite the pandemic and calls for a global ceasefire.
On the second International Day to Protect Education from Attack, Her Highness joined global leaders to call for an end to this heinous destruction of lives and societies. Aggressors deliberately strip people of their histories and cultural legacy, and HH stressed that they must answer for their actions and pay for the damage they cause.
Education is the foundation of peacebuilding for a better future and it must be protected.
