This is probably one of the best 2D Mario platformers out there because of how gimmicky it is and how much it messes around and experiments with well-known items to create all sorts of unimaginable crazy contraptions, enemies and boss fights that probably wouldn't fit into the more recent games. Fire P-Pakkun
Hold down on the piranha plant in the editor
Volcano Lotus
It would be its own item, likely in Gizmos since it’s more of an obstacle than an item

Hold down on either the brick blocks or the hard blocks
You would be able to adjust how far it goes, but only in odd numbers because in the editor it would only take up 1 block, the pause, which direction it stretches, and where it stretches from
Fishin’ Boo

Put it on the top of an area of ground and it would remove the entire area of ground underneath it

Pea Trampoline
Hold down on the springboards and it would be an option. It would snap to whatever ground block it’s connected to
Gray P-Switch
Hold down on the P-Switch in the editor
Hold down on the Gray P-Switch and there would be an option to edit block placement, and when it’s pressed, those blocks will spawn
Gray Coin
Hold down on the coin in the editor
Amazing Flyin’ Hammer Bro
Hold down on the hammer bro in the editor
Triangle Block

3-Up Moon
Hold down on the 1-Up Mushroom in the editor
Thwimp
Hold down on the Thwomp in the editor
Bony Beetle
Hold down on the Buzzy Beetle in the editor
Piston Lift

It would be an image of a mushroom platform with up and down arrows
Adjusting the height change would be similar to adjusting the height of a normal mushroom platform, and you would be able to adjust the speed, and the pause time

Imagine a story mode (another) where a level is your base
Layer 2 would be pretty difficult to implement
I think most needed thing is Goal Point Question Sphere for instawin
I think there could be a second part with other missing items: Torpedo Ted, Bowser Statue, Pillar, Falling Spike, Timed Plataforms, Rip Van Fish, Swoop, Fuzzy, Urchin, Porcupuffer, Torpedo Ted.
Maks Koopas, Cape Koopas, yellow shells, blue yoshi and yellow yoshi.
