Maybe someone said this already but Kojiro would have continued to grow in power as he ages and became wiser with age. So he is portrayed as old, even if he didn’t reach that age, because that would have been his peak after continuing to challenge stronger and stronger opportunities.
I love how they showed all the swordsmen Kojiro fought and lost alongside Kojiro and charging against Poseidon as it showed that Kojiro has their skills and expertise in the sword as if they themselves were there in the ring. That part of them charging together if I recall correctly was not in the manga and I love that part of the anime. I can't wait or the reaction to the finale, love all your reactions :D
i think kojiro was aged because unlike other people, their prime is when their body is the most capable but for kojiro the longer he lives the more he’ll be able to fight in his head and master more, sort of like how the old samurais even beat him when he was young

This is so cute, but the reason he summoned in the older age in this version of kojiro when he died, he still improve his ganryu and fight musashi a million times in his head in heaven and achieve the greatest enlightenment and became the one under the sun. His body died but his soul still training in the afterlife.

Essentially a long af japanese sword and long bamboo poles used back in the day were used for for drying clothes after washing, so they were called 'Drying Poles". Tl:Dr Kyojiro had a sword that was long enough that people compared it to a drying rack.
