The video explained: Girls get possessed by Edgar Allen Poe, so they write an amazing song. They dress as men, because women are obviously not taken seriously in the music business, to pitch their song to Universal managers. They get arrested for their false identities. At the police station they summon the ghost of Edgar Allen Poe with their lipsticks to escape and the ghost possesses the detectives. Everyone is dancing while the girls run off.
Yes its about ghost writing and the lack of credit, and its called Who The Hell is Edgar because its about Edgar Allan Poe. Most people credit the popular Sherlock Holmes for the writer Arthur Conan Doyle, when actually huge inspiration came from Edgar Allan Poe - but most people wouldn't know this because, who the hell is Edgar :), this is why it all makes sense!
[Obligatory Greetings from Austria :3] Great reaction :) As someone who's been very displeased with our national selection for many years now (we got a team of "experts" to pick our songs ever since it worked out with Conchita) I can finally see the expertise at work here. We haven't qualified for the Finals since 2018 I think bc we either kept sending "save" songs that were swallowed by the masses or vocal hard hitters without the voice to carry it live. But this, oh boy THIS has me excited. It's without bias my favorite song of the year and that's incredibly exciting to say (Norway comes close). If the stage performance is good we could easily get the Public Votes with this bop and maybe even the Juries if they take their time to analyse the production value and message. Rly happy with our entry! Top5 for sure imo, but maybe even better? :>
The video is how these women break the music business by posing as men because the music industry doesn’t take them seriously (also the fact that “Poe” ghostwrote the bestselling song in the video), but then they get in trouble with the law and are apprehended. But they get away with it 🤣
Pedro, you need to learn English more because you dont understand lyrics of this song and cannot understand even who is Edgar. They said it in the beginning , dude! In first sentence!!!
They are not even famous in Austria! But we have Pizzera and Jaus or Seiler und Speer. But they are not at ESC, though they do sing in Austrian german amd they are more well known here. Shame ! Ok its not about a Typewriter. Right, Poe is not Austrian. Duh! Has nothing to do with Austria and its about the Music Industry.
Really irritating how you need to pause and react to every single line. Just watch the song through and react live then give opinions afterwards. Otherwise it’s just excruciating.
WHO IS HE!? 🇦🇹 This turned out to be a masterpiece. What do you think about this song?

Really good
“Singing about soup”😂❤
Why, I would like a good song about corgi dogs at ESC
Seriously? You didn't know who Edgar Allen Poe was???
It would pay off to read more into it tbh. It is in fact about ghostwriting.
Oh mio padre is Italian and it means: Oh my father
They want to show men that also woman can create something great, so it has a feminstic message too
I know it's a reaction but dude... you pause way too much
