I can´t believe there´s hate comments, let´s just appreciate Nick Menza´s Artwork.
We're so lucky that nick did this clinic. He is really stretching out here and showing how diverse he is. This is his swan song and it really shows what a versatile bad ass beast he was behind that kit.
This lineup of OHM was going far and beyond anything Megadeth could ever do within the confines of the Metal box/genre that defines them.
In a way Mustaine did Nick a favor by not paying enough for the tour,we never would have gotten these incredible,complex and detailed masterpieces of drum battery work from Nick as he would have been playing Mustaine's songs again as a hired gun,and while that's cool and all......IMHO this is much much better and a lot more creative. Rest in Power Mr Menza and massive respect and thanks due to you! Wishing the best vibes and healing to your children and all the loved ones you left behind
This perfectly highlights why I rate Nick Menza's work so highly. The fact that he can play metal as well as any metal drummer and then turn his hand to this is incredible. Shades of the great Bill Bruford and a little of Tony Williams the monster jazz drummer in his style.
Great coordination skills, and as people have pointed out, this is for 30 minutes, not 3, so that makes him ten times better. RIP Nick.

Shades of the great Bill Bruford and a little of Tony Williams the monster jazz drummer in his style here and some of his cymbal work reminds me a little of Billy Cobham. I would be interested to hear the opinions of jazz drummers. This is far more challenging that his work with Megadeth.
Such a great performance from this band. Chris' playing is like, wow! The solos are great. Robertino is phenomenal on the bass and the solos on his playing, amazing. And Nick Menza, I've never heard this kind of playing from him. It's a real eye opener to see. R.I.P. Nick.
RIP Nick. Phenomenal musicians right there. Great drumming, guitar and man that bassist is getting down! Awesome.
The cymbals are some of the best Ive ever heard, some can be somewhat annoying or harsh on the ears IMO. Nothing harsh here just perfection, the ride is amazing!
Certainly the most dynamic and sophisticated lineup that OHM had. A true tragedy Nick Menza taken so soon, especially as this trio seemed destined for great things, and so soon after the death of David Eagle... This set will surely go down as one of the all-time classic fusion guitar trio performances...
Damn, these guys are so good. RIP Nick, such an amazing player and talent. This band brought so much to the table! Every musician jamming simultaneously and it works.....
Wow, this is great. Sorry that Nick's death brought me here. This reminds me so much of Allan Holdsworth during the Road Games days with Chad Whackerman and Jeff Berlin, just fantastic, precision musicianship with insanely creative energy.

Contrary to what Mustaine has stated in recent times, the proof is in the pudding right here. Nick is playing amazing these days! He could play Rattlehead in his sleep!
+lonhro84 I dunno, man. Nick jammed with them and it sounded fucking epic - epecially the RIP stuff. But he wasn't willing to get paid the price they offered him - which I doubt was low - and said no due to that. I think he'd sound awesome back in the band, but Chris is a technique virtuoso, like Broderick was - just on the drums instead.
I don't go after what Dave said, but Nick himself.

Why the props to Nick as a Megadeth member and not Poland? Poland set the standard for every Megadeth guitarist that followed. He also played on 3 albums.

Great idea, bring in a guitarist with no interest in playing jazz fusion into a jazz fusion band. Even if Nick were still alive today Martydoesn't even like this kind of stuff.
