Hi Mike. Thanks for the great video series. I've got a similar carb to this fitted to a 5g15 engine in a mitsubishi colt. It's a 5eva carb. Your videos were very informative but there is a terrible lack.of videos on this on RUclips. I have a particular problem in that I can see that the choke butterfly is completely closed until engine warms a little and then it begins to open. I notice you have a book, but I can't find a specific book for aisan carbs anywhere. I think the butterfly should open a little once the engine starts but it doesn't. Therefore, it overchokes and dies if I don't give it gas, until it's warm enough for the choke to start coming off. I need to be able to adjust it but nobody over here in the UK knows anything about them. It's all plug and play electronic injection here and anyone that has anything to do with carbs will not touch Aisan because of lack of knowledge. Can you help
Hi Mike, I've got a similar Aisan carb on my Toyota Carina II with a 4A-F and it's running very rich, to the point where it's leaving a cloud of eyewatering vapour behind it. What do you think might be the issue and are any of your kits compatible?
I did a carb rebuild and put everything back together and put it back in the fj, started it, everything worked fine. I let it sit for about a year while i was away at school and now the fuel reservoir in my carb is not filling. I checked to make sure i was getting fuel at the carb inlet and i am. My question is at what port does the fuel fill the reservoir at? I have some sort of clog happening because when i blow air in the fuel inlet i can't pass any air through. Would that be a stuck needle? Thanks
Mikes Carburetor pulled the top off chamber last night to find that the screen right before the needle pin was torn and clogging the flow to the fuel reservoir. Tried to find a replacement on the internet but can only find the needle pin.
Hey Mike the spring you just took off of injection pump what size is it and how much attention do I need on it because I have a 1976 Toyota pick up with the carburetor and that’s what’s missing
Can you tell me what is the cfm on that carburetor ? I have a Toyota 2 bbl 6A23 but i can't find much info on the cfm rate or is it a standar cfm for Toyota 2 bbl carbs ?
Hello, I have a 1989 Totota Corolla with the 1.6 4A-F and I recently bought a carburetor repair kit from Walker Products part number 15830B. Now that I'm doing the repair, I believe this might not be for my exact car, do you know where else I might be able to find an instruction manual for this repair?
Hi mike! I own a 65' Toyota RT40 with a 2R engine. The carb is leaking so I'm going to give it a clean and new gasket. But in case this does not solve the problem do you have any tips since finding a new is close to impossible?
@@MikesCarburetor Thanks for the reply Mike, a few days ago the carby rebuild kit made it's way from Australia to Norway so now it's been given a good clean and is mounted to the car. When I prime the carby it fires up for about a second or two, and then dies. It's bone dry so I'm thinking a vacum leak somewhere might be the issue?
Hi I have a little question about this carb. I have 2 of them that I want to rebuild. I noticed with one of them the first venturi bushing was loose and even 90 degrees turned (you can also lift it up) The second venturi was fixed and in the other carb they are both fixed. they cant be turned as the have 2 little holes in the shaft that should meet holes in the carb house. How to fix this venturi bushing in its place? Regards Frank
can anyone by chance tell me what displacement and hp the corolla from which this carb is? We're troubleshooting an Aisan carb off a 1.6 75hp Carina (should be a 21100 model), but the jets are 099 and 156 and we thought the 099 is quite big. It's kind of flooding the primary half as well. There is a chance it could be 1 of the gaskets, but thought I'd double check with here.
hey mike thanks for posting this ive got a 79 celica and i cant for the life of me find the diaphram that opens the secondary venturi. I didnt see it in the kit you sell would you have any idea where i might find it?
This guy really beats the shit out of that carb
Like my dentist
thank you so much man , very helpful

Hi Mike, great video man. Is it possible to adjust the float height in these carbs? Do you know how to do it?

Hey Mike.
These carbys would be very similar to the rn46 Hilux 1982 (18r)?
Would you have a rebuild kit to suit?
