glad i found this. burger's instructions are pretty good for the jb4 install but they don't include the wireless install part specifically for this vehicle's engine. it kinda left me wondering, huh am i supposed to wire it myself to the jb4 box or does it come pre-wired? i'm supposed to receive my jb4 with wireless kit today. so i'm assuming i'll have to wire it in. thanks for the video, this was really helpful.
Here is another video on how to install it. Especially the wire tapping method he used with the harness that it comes with.. ruclips.net/video/7j68W9kxlqU/видео.html
First, great video! By far best tutorial I found on this... very detailed and easily explained! Secondly, I have 2 quick questions: 1- I'm assuming I can't use this AND Android Auto at the same time, right? I.e. No Waze/Google Maps on my dash/radio when I have this app running? 2- I'm also in Australia (Sydney though), any horror stories about dealers and JB4s? I'm very interested in this but at the same time worried about warranty... I drive a Octavia RS and with it being the same engine as the Golf GTI and etc I'm assuming warranty claim issues would be similar if they exist. Cheers, Ed
Hi Ed, In answer to your questions: 1. I don't believe it is possible. However you don't need the app running all the time! 2. We have not heard of a single horror story / warranty issue with JB1s or JB4s throughout the entire world. Simply remove the unit before visiting a dealership. Hope this helps!
AutoInstruct, I installed jb4 on gti mk7, with the bluetooth kit, I can connect and change the map, but the gauges are not working, it shows only the current map. what could it be? cable odb2 has been installed!
Wait. So you are telling me that once I am running this set up, I can just unplug, take it out pyt it in my house, in order to save gas on a road trip without any problems????
AutoInstruct great to know thanks, and thanks for that quick response! Also... I noticed your values were like jb1 settings and weren't the actual boost pressure. If I do not have the Bluetooth connect kit, can I run absolute boost pressure settings such as 23 psi, etc through the laptop when I make a map 6?
For the JB4, yes, you can run absolute or additive MAP6 profiles. The mapping can be done in two ways. If the value at 1500RPM is kept below 10 it will work as a boost adder map. If the value at 1500RPM is higher than 10 it will work as a absolute map.
Hey there. Thanks for the video. I'm still trying to decide on which way to go with me Golf R. I like the JB4. Where do you live? I hear what seems to be exotic birds squawking in the background on your video's LOL
Hey quick question installed my jb4 but when I rev my car none of the gauges will show . It’s like their not on I can’t see the rpm or boost ? Did I do anything wrong or do I have to adjust anything
In the JB4 Connect App there is both ECU PSI and Actual Boost - Therefore you don't need necessarily need a gauge/tap, as 'Actual Boost' is the real value.
It was a good idea would like to buy one but after watching the video I’m not going to.. there is to much that could happen to break/damage your jb4 unit.. things are NEVER the way they make them seem on video...

@@gersongerson92 I figured it out a while ago but thanks!
@@chucko83 I think this is the older set up.

Hey mate, thanks for the incredibly prompt response! And yes, it helps heaps!
Cheers!
No problem! They're in stock if you're interested :)
can you teak the tune to create burble?
My JB4 connect cable is blue not red... What should I do?
The process is no different. Cheers
So now that the wire is blue, do I connect the blue wire to the same red wire you connected it to ?
Pro Tip- Leave the insulation cover on the (now blue) red wire when feeding through and remove once you've fed it through. =D
Can I connect the blue cable to any cable?
Can You actually custom tune your car with this? Does this work only with bolt on stuff?
Does the option of N54 N55 or F Series change anything?
It changes how CEL codes are read and reported on
So for a non pp gti mk7? n54?
fefnirscards go with F-Series

Tasso Maciel Hey, that usually means there’s an issue with your OBD connection. Make sure you’ve plugged it into the JB4 with the correct orientation.
Sir do I need the module ?
Do you still have to connect the last small cable that goes inside the cabin?
Yes. Goes to the OBD port
How do you take the housing apart?
Aureliano Barrios gently pry the case apart with a flathead screwdriver
i have a newer SENT model for A5/S5. It has four 2 mm hex screws holding it together. Don’t pry this one. You will scratch it
Is it the same has the n55 engine
hi, i found two red wire with my jb4, i do not know which one should connect with the Bluetooth. one red wire is in the up and other one under .
Hello, Either red wire is fine.
Wait. So you are telling me that once I am running this set up, I can just unplug, take it out pyt it in my house, in order to save gas on a road trip without any problems????
I think so mate just put on Map 0 to be on the safe side
its possible show jb4 display in car navigation display?
You can with Android and VIM
How do I know I have the wireless Bluetooth
Does this eliminate the obd2 connector?
No, they OBD2 connection is still required. It's actually how the data is fed to the Wireless kit, via the JB4.

MrBuckyboy56 The JB4 is an awesome choice. We're in Melbourne, Australia!
Hey quick question installed my jb4 but when I rev my car none of the gauges will show . It’s like their not on I can’t see the rpm or boost ? Did I do anything wrong or do I have to adjust anything
Elias Valdez I’m having that problem too, have you figured it out?
Anybody know how to fix this?
Did you guys figure it out?
Boost is not accurate reading as the jb4 is tricking ecu if you want real boost level need a gauge and a tap in case anyone didn't know
In the JB4 Connect App there is both ECU PSI and Actual Boost - Therefore you don't need necessarily need a gauge/tap, as 'Actual Boost' is the real value.
Mine will not connect to my phone
It was a good idea would like to buy one but after watching the video I’m not going to.. there is to much that could happen to break/damage your jb4 unit.. things are NEVER the way they make them seem on video...
just installed the new version in like 30 seconds lol
Can't get my Note 8 to connect 🤔🤔🤔
I click to see how you set up the app connect the app. You skip all of that this video is useless 😡😡😡
