Ukraine had a wonderful future. Guaranteed security from invasion or interference by Russia and America as long as it remained a neutral buffer state. Internal peaceful co-existence between ethnic russians and western ukranians. Proximity to the prosperous european markets to its west and cheap energy from Russia. The possibility of a silk road land railway connection to china and the far east. Its territory intact. Hundreds of thousands of its young men happy and at home with their wives and children, and millions living in their homes in ukraine rather than becoming refugees. What changed that ? Not Vladimir Putin. America did not like Ukranian neutrality because it wanted its missiles and biolabs on ukranian soil. So it overthrew the democratic sovereign government of ukraine at gunpoint. 8 years later having explored every possibility for peace Putin invaded as the americans avoided peace. For example 11:45 Tuberville said putin should have withdrawn his forces. He did, because a peace agreement was achieved in Istanbul. The americans destroyed that agreement because as Nuland explains here - it would have stopped the whole point of the war - american missiles pointing at moscow on ukranian soil. Budapest Memorandum had nothing to do with NATO expansion it was solely about Ukraine's security guarantees after it gave up nuclear weapons. Ukraine didn't qualify for NATO membership because of Crimea dispute with Russia but putin invaded anyway....

We need more people like him. So many politicians are literally pissing on "We the People..." The focus should be here at home. I always felt that we never got a chance to fully recover from the effects of the pandemic because things lead right into this war.
