  • In this edition of Favourite Cases, Steven Barrett delves into the case of Barclays Bank Ltd v Quistclose Investments Ltd [1968] UKHL 4 and breaks it down for the law students among our followers.
Steven says: “This case is fascinating and marks my own identity as a commercial barrister who does financial services but is still an equity, trusts and chancery lawyer. The becoming of Quistclose marked the point where equity stopped being something that Dickens pastiches as a dusty part of the past and it found its place in the modern commercial world.”
Favourite Cases is a Radcliffe Chambers project for August 2020, which takes a look at interesting and important chancery and commercial decisions.
This video was recorded on 19 August 2020.
