How to Crochet the Alternating Half Double Crochet Stitch | HDC Stitch | How to Crochet 🧶

  • The Stitch Instructions HERE!
    Work in multiples of 3
    R1: HDC in the 3rd CH from the hook. HDC in each stitch all the way across. CH 2. Turn.
    R2: (CH 2 counts as HDC) *HDC in the back loop of the next stitch. HDC in the front loop of the next stitch. Rep from * all the way across ending with an HDC in the top of the turning CH.
    R3 - ?: repeat row 2

    Your video tutorial is excellent! Love that you zoom in so closely and do your stitches slowly so beginners can actually see what you are doing. Even as a more advanced crocheter, I still appreciate your technique! Great job!

    Hdc is my favorite stitch!!! This makes a BEAUTIFUL fabric! Thank you for teaching this!!! I would like to change colors every 4/5 rows, how would I do that?

      Simply snip the yarn on the last row before you want to change and be sure you leave a tail for weaving in. Turn your work like you’re getting ready to start a new row, mister your hook into the first stitch, create a slip knot in the new yarn color, place it on your hook, pull through the stitch. YO for a slip stitch and then chain up as many as is called for! ☺️

    In the front loop, back loop hdc on the second row of pattern (actually the 3rd row of hdc( are you making the opposite stitch of row below or the same stitch?? Please
