The worst thing about the S21 is that Samsung only promises updates for 3 years, which would be around the time when the XS Max is also dropped for software support.
The fact that the XS Max can go toe to toe with the S21 Ultra in 2021 where it matters, really shows that the price Apple asked back in 2018 was warranted. It just shows how well engineered the iPhone is. Put a 2018 Android next to the XS Max and it would get destroyed.
Hate to say it, but you are completely wrong. This video is not intended to help you choose what to buy, but if you should upgrade to the S21 Ultra from the Xs Max. Besides raw processing power, iPhones have always lost.

Comparing specs on paper is about as useful as Bixby. Some people in the comments section are actually still using a 6S/7/8 iPhone and are looking to get an all screen OLED iPhone for the cheap. They appreciate Nick’s comparisons because they can see how it stacks up next to a current competitor’s flagship being sold.

it is not about switching device, it's about switching from ios to Android. If you are deep in the Apple eco system with couple of devices or if all of your family and friends have iPhones then switch is just impossible. Nothing on Android can come even close to that kind of device support and eco system power. IMessage alone will prevent a lot's of people even thinking about switch. Add to that Apple watch, air drop, iPad and Apple tv and game is over.
As someone with the XS Max, the s21 ultra is amazing and better for sure, but my phone is great and I do not really take photos that often. If I had an older iPhone, maybe I would conciser upgrading. It is just working great.

I just upgraded my grandpas 6 plus to a used gold XS max. It runs just as well as my 12, the display is gorgeous, and it looks super premium. Plus we got it at only $410 + tax. You definitely won’t be disappointed!

@@Gary0557 That depends on the person and if you're talking about hardware specifically. There are still comparisons to be made between the two. For example, the Xs Max still has much better haptics than the S21 Ultra (and that will obviously carry on to the 12). Software is also a massive consideration, but I would agree that you don't need a Xs to make that comparison. I get your point though.
@@Gary0557 It was really just an example. There are many little things like that with iPhones. Things iPhone users take for granted, and only really notice when they regret not having it. As far as haptics though, I can't stand bad haptics anymore. I hardly switch my phone off of ring, so haptics are a massive part of how I interact with my phone, and vice versa.
Both phones are undeniably gorgeous and elegant. The structure and the display oh my goodness, incredibly beautiful💓 , However, the Galaxy S21 ultra is a lot better as far as I'm concerned. So nicely explained. Kudos to you. 💓👍

We don’t even have a car available here with android auto. Let alone banks have just started using Apple Pay since last year. Here Apple is trusted and companies won’t go to google for a loooooooonnnggg times. Apple (sadly) just works.
Yes many users will depending how deeply reliant and embedded there are within that ecosystem. If you use mostly Google, Microsoft, or Amazon services both platforms offer those apps
After I switched to Galaxy S10 I never looked back, I agree preference comes to play here. I find myself always in situations where I need to use a feature and boom this phone has it, I remember being in class and the were so many notes on the board 😂, popped up the camera and opened the edge panel, clicked on the crop option and It extracted all that text and so accurate and shared it to a word document. I don't even know how Samsung thinks of such things. Can't even imagine what the S21 Ultra does

I would do the switch to s21 ultra from iPhone only if it runs iOS or has optimised apps on Instagram especially the Insta story using the camera ported straight from the phone's camera hardware instead of some "potato" un optimised camera
Lol clearly you haven't used android 11. In android 11 apps are only allowed to use the phone's camera instead of their own algorithms. This used to be quite a problem in android 10 and below

@nick ackerman . Samsung killed the s9 wich was the XS. As for the s21 , based on their previous patterns it might not go beyond 2023 . While you can expect iphone 12 pro to have each ios version till 2027 easily , if not more . And relase value Xs max is still around 550 dollars where the Samsung for one year goes down from 1000 dollars to below 300

Samsung phones has come a long way since Touchwiz days and I'm so glad that I gave this phone a chance. Wanted all the features and customizations on a phone with 120hz and that's what I got 😎.

It’s the Apple ecosystem that keeps me holding onto a behind phone. Have a MAC, Apple Watch, iPad, iPhone and they just all work flawlessly together. Moving to an Android even with top of the line features gives me an oddball unit in the group. I do a lot of texting on my MAC to iPhone friends and family too.

3:54 that's false. I use my ohkne almost daily outside as I work for a construction company, andnits still hard to see in direct sunlight at max brightness. I can say it is certainly a bit brighter than my s10 plus, but still hard to see, and you'll end up having to walk to a pole or somewhere with shade just to see your screen at times.

Xs max looks premium, gorgeous than S21 Ultra. The S21 is not attractive than Xs Max and you should compare S21 to 12 Pro max of Apple which is the Flagship Model nowadays. I would rather pick iPhone Xs Max for Long Term software updates even if I’m just Oppo user.

Most definately you won't regret it! Matter of fact I responded cause my little brother had the XS but after seeing me with my S21 Ultra he fell in love with it and decided to trade his XS in for the S21 Ultra. He's in love with it lol and has 0 regrets whatsoever.

I ended up switching to the one plus 7 pro from my xs max recently and it has been a delight. The phone doesn't feel heavy either.

I always like the plus/max versions of phones and I use both samsung s9+ and xsmax. Still awesome phones until I can upgrade dem both.

Don’t do from third party if you can buy 1000 dollars phones don’t hesitate to spend original things
Original or not..you owned the devices you buy..it supposedly up to the owner if still want to stick to the company or not..the OS/ecosystem is a thing..but to be forced to keep your loyalty up to the hardware is one thing..

It’s the Apple ecosystem that keeps me holding onto a behind phone. Have a MAC, Apple Watch, iPad, iPhone and they just all work flawlessly together. Moving to an Android even with top of the line features gives me an oddball unit in the group. I do a lot of texting on my MAC to iPhone friends and family too.

If you have xs Max your more than likely in the apple echo system the Samsung is a better phone but it’s still a android device I have the 11 pro max going to wait for the 13 pro max😊👍

3:54 that's false. I use my ohkne almost daily outside as I work for a construction company, andnits still hard to see in direct sunlight at max brightness. I can say it is certainly a bit brighter than my s10 plus, but still hard to see, and you'll end up having to walk to a pole or somewhere with shade just to see your screen at times.

Holding on to my XS Max until early next year, then I can upgrade through carrier to the 12 Pro Max at no charge.

I was offered the XS Max from my 8 Plus. Going to the 11 Pro Max doesn’t make sense to me, at least with the 12 Pro Max I’ll double my storage, add RAM and have a huge bump in camera 👍🏼
Xs max looks premium, gorgeous than S21 Ultra. The S21 is not attractive than Xs Max and you should compare S21 to 12 Pro max of Apple which is the Flagship Model nowadays. I would rather pick iPhone Xs Max for Long Term software updates even if I’m just Oppo user.
Dude xs max has 5 or 6 years of updates (I don't know how much) front launches s21 ultra is two years newer and started with 4 so either one more or same

You compare xs max to s21 ultra? Xs max It's just 1/4 of s21 ultra. Xs max is not even match to my note 10 plus. Better match it to s8 plus it will be toe to toe.

No I find it useful. Some people want to upgrade from an Iphone xs to a S21 ultra. And he needs to make money too so why not? Just don’t watch his video then if you are not interested.

Most definately you won't regret it! Matter of fact I responded cause my little brother had the XS but after seeing me with my S21 Ultra he fell in love with it and decided to trade his XS in for the S21 Ultra. He's in love with it lol and has 0 regrets whatsoever.
