You really have to be well versed in the protocol to collect pōhaku. It’s true that “in pōhaku there IS life” & that life doesn’t appreciate being taken from their home and forced into a different life… & they WILL make their displeasure known to you. You do NOT just take pōhaku, especially if you aren’t kanaka maoli.
