I find it ironic when you say "I've got that fast metabolism" and "I haven't really been able to gain weight." Uh, if you really did have a fast metabolism, you wouldn't have the issue of not gaining weight because you'd constantly be hungry and wanting to eat big meals every few hours. The fact that you couldn't even finish all the meals here pretty much proves my point: it's really a lack of appetite that's preventing you from eating enough to gain weight. It's okay though. It's pretty common for young people to claim a fast metabolism.

If you had a fast metabolism, you'd have the issue of trying to lose weight, not gain weight, because you'd be a hungry beast and would want to eat constantly. You'd likely have to control yourself to not eat more calories. Talk about many male bodybuilders or Strongman competitors (those guys have fast metabolisms).
Still don't believe me? Let's take a few skinny teenagers (who will likely claim to have a fast metabolism), and have them try to eat 3 footlong Subways in one sitting. Could they eat that and get hungry a few hours later for another big meal? No? Or, they probably can't do it, even in one whole day. I've rarely seen a skinny guy who can eat even half of that. Point proved: they just don't eat a lot, and hence why they don't gain weight.
