What he said spoke to my heart. I have been in the past so opinionated about musical preference with sacred music. What I've been slowly but surely realizing is that, no matter how much my preferences change or stay the same, there are many beautiful ways of worshiping the Lord and I have no right to force my preferences on others or even complain. We are a community and should be charitable and patient with the needs of everyone. The Holy Ghost works in mysterious and amazing ways and is not limited to my preference.
Once I let go of that backwards mindset I found myself being able to enjoy a much greater variety of sacred music to just be present in the moment. Worshiping God is what matters most and only Heaven is perfect.
I find so much beauty and unity in Gregorian chant. It speaks more to my soul than all the electric guitars and man made instruments put together.
God speaks also through an Electric Guitar. My deepest daily conversion also comes from beautiful Rock Songs and playing Modern Instruments. Sacred Music is Great but its not the only Music Genre that God created. Indeed, the Music in the Congress is a witness to true Unity of the varieties of Music.

Anyone know the name of the choir that performed on the last day/closing Mass, alongside the Indiana Symphony? They were so beautiful, and even sang some Filipino songs. I want to find them and listen again, it was so powerful and moving.
There should be NO hats worn in any building where the blessed sacrament is exposed. This is disrespectful.
You see a hat during music practice sessions and not when the Blessed Sacrament is exposed!
How about Gregorian chant?
They had some of that too. thursday night. I believe this channel has the recording.
We need less protestant praise and worship and more Catholic chant and polyphony. Floriani at the congress was a good first step!
There was a huge variety not just praise and worship. Many different people were ministered to through the variety. There was tons of classical and chant and latin at the morning masses and at adoration for instance. Reverence was paramount. They pulled it off fabulously.
Only the Rad Trads can find ugliness in the praise of the Eucharisr.
Respectfully, i dont understand all this talk of "uniting" and "reunifying". 99% of the people there are already Catholic, cant we just celebrate in the beauty of God's holiness through some music?
Well the church is being pulled in one direction by the radical traditonals and in the other direction by radical progressives. One side thinks anything since the 60s had been to pander to the libs. The german bishops who were pushing LGBT issues were shut down. Its like we need to tighten up our game. The protestants and orthodox will choose whichever weak point and attack it causing many trads or liberals to leave the church.
