Very good explanation! Thank you for your time and effort in creating this. It is clear that it has helped many individuals lean absolute values for the first time, including myself. I hope your work continues to go well.
Thanks, I'm in calc I, we had exercises with absolute value equationes/inequalites and literally this is for me, the hardest part of the course until now. Thanks teacher.
So, software programmers may use the absolute value function, but in engineering we use +/- tolerancing nomenclature. It works out the same, except in engineering it's usually a (> or equal to) and (< or equal to) tolerance. We can also have symmetrical or asymmetrical tolerancing. That's the way I relate absolute value to engineering students.
You just touched a life, sir.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU
This helped save my life
THANK YOU SO MUCH

Why would the two negative values be equal to 5? Shouldn't we put the first equation to be equal to -5, instead?
