Unrelated, but I didn’t know my local fish store was affiliated with Aquarium Co-op!! Popped in there today to see some really awesome fish and have my plans for my 20 gallon set up.

This was really interesting because you created aquascapes which are easily doable (on a lesser scale) for the average aquarist. Plus you provide all that useful information in achieving success with your aquariums. I think we all are eagerly awaiting part 2.

Very nice collab. It's great to see you somehow having the time to do this, not sure how you do it all tbh. I'm sorry to see that the algae control didn't work for you. I tested in a 20 long (skeptically) and I'm happy with the results. I haven't seen any new algae in the 6 weeks since starting. Hopefully they can make tweaks to handle bigger algae breakouts.

Something that will clear up your algae and cloudy water is lots of plants that take nutrients from the water column, the best thing you could do is let duckweed spread to all your tanks.
The flow on the new sponge filter kit is insane!
Power outages blow! I have a handful of empty soda bottles with pinholes in the bottom to use as temporary fountains for my tanks when it happens lol

Doesn't the peroxide hurt the fish/ plants? I'm really struggling with blackbeard algae and searching for something to help control it.
Why, what's, and how's.
What is the reason for a water change when not needed?
Did you disturb the substrate at the bottom of the tank?
Did the peroxide harm the fish?
What tool did you use to scrape the tanks?
How many fish died during this process?
Does this whole process agitate the fish?
lower light intensity = bigger crypts, they do absurdly well with less light / in shadow from floating plants

Literally the only thing that controls algae is a lot of plants.
What I really want to know is where I can get those huge lava rocks with holes.
Hey Cory, do you flush the tanks with peroxide extra? The peroxide doesn't hurt the fish or reg plants?
Peroxide hurt the lotus a bit. I don’t flush them extra. Hydrogen peroxide basically reacts into oxygen when it’s done.

No plans to make larger than 100 watt. You can simply use 2x 100 watt and it’s safer that way.
@AquariumCoop I am using 2 for my 75 gallon. Thank you for getting back to me . I didn't think u were but was curious. It's definitely the nicest design I've seen, btw especially since I don't have to put my hands in the tank to change !

Can the peroxide spray trick work on blackbeard algae?
It does from me. Turns pink they grayish clear over a couple days.

I wish I had friends who were into fish keeping and actually had tanks... I can't think of a more fun day then just doing fish stuff all day on so many tanks... I'm seriously jealous... We don't even have fish clubs here in South Texas...
