- Lot of people have asked us “How much we spend on our expenses monthly”. Well, we have observed that our expenses keep increasing and decreasing based on various factors like if our kid is going to daycare, what phone plan we are using or if both of us have our own cars.
We have tried to break down our expenses based on our current situation and have also explained the expenses new immigrants in Canada can do or save…
This is the estimate of our Monthly budget we are spending right now and along with that, we have explained how much more or less we were spending during our first year in Canada as new immigrant.
So, you can say this is our Monthly budget comparison of our First Year Vs Third Year in Canada.

Nice video, fairly accurate in assuming those numbers. I have couple of qns though, if monthly expense around 6.5 k then how much u have to earn pre tax. Further didn’t mention anything about saving / investments, would love to hear something on that side as well if possible.

Since you've come from Dubai, can you please advise if it makes sense for new migrants from Dubai to export their existing cars to Canada? Of course, with a couple of changes like winter tires and anti-freeze coolant. I ask because, both the countries drive on the same side of the road, and it might help save some money to buy a new car initially in Canada. And if the info is too much to cover in a comment, you could probably make a video about it.

I think exporting the car from dubai and then making it canadian weather ready will be too costly...other than that, insurance companies here might charge u very high premium for insuring such modified cars.. better buy it from here only..

Nice information...thanks for the details. One of friends also got home insurance for $150/month but we suggested he shop around and he got same coverage from Belair for $50/month for the same property.

Toronto is shit expensive damn, tip to new immigrants look outside Toronto. I'm based in Edmonton way better pay and amazingly cheap cost of living. I'm abt to buy a house on cash next year purely from saving and from single income as my wife is finishing her PhD.
Please make a video on how much you basically save, most people talk about expenses and salaries. But what do you save at the end of the day, that is what matters?

What’s the approximate income you guys make in your jobs and what’s your job profiles? I am a asking this cause I know u guys came here from Dubai. But I know few people who left n leaving Canada and settling in other countries mostly Dubai. Cause it pays more and income is tax free. Pls share why u end up doing opposite. Especially when living expenses in Canada is through the roof since 2019

What about health insurance?
I think it's compulsory for every individual in canada.
We have Govt provided OHIP for which we don't need to pay anything extra..OHIP is covered from the taxes we pay to the Govt..

Hey shilpa, that was a very informative video, but you said you can carry you own device and come to Canada. Can you carry electronic devices, like phone, I pad etc for Dubai. As I have heard there is some voltage difference and charging the device is a problem
I used my dubai phone here for more than an year before buying a new one....ppl who come from India or Dubai or from any other country as tourists or visitors keep their own phones n just change the charging plugs....with no issues...

Hi, as a foreigner if I purchase house in canada, you said in last video 15% tax is applicable, but this applies if I buy only in certain area like GTA Toronto, what if I buy in Kitchener or an rural area or outskirts?
In that video, I was talking abt our case because we bought both our homes in GTA. You don't need to pay 15% tax if you buy property in rural area or outskirts...

after 12th grade in advanced diploma of 2 in accounting and finance so guide me it's better to move Toronto take admission in college then after study move to Saskatchewan or directly move to Saskatchewan take admission there because after study pr not easy in Ontario i think pls suggest what i do because during studying part time job and living cost can earn in Saskatchewan

Pls suggest in Toronto,Saskatchewan or nova Scotia or new brunswick if choose for diploma in accounting and finance than which options is better have better advantage in job opportunities and pr policies for my son coming after 12th is it possible to get pr after 12th do diploma
If anybody comes on a student visa in Canada, he/she will get work permit after completing the studies. After the person can apply for PR in Canadian experienced class category. All these provinces have different rules in giving provincial nomination for PR. After 12th, only based on Diploma, it is difficult to get PR in Ontario (toronto), but other provinces might have some special programmes based on how many years somebody has worked there after studies..
P.S.I am not a certified immigration consultant, just suggesting based on my knowledge
