I actually just got the battle honors case last week. I'm not that new to the game (basically started right when 9th edition came out) but I've been moving so slowly with it that the guy running my local shop was nice enough to say I still count as new to the hobby, and even let me count things I had actually already done before then as long as I had proof I did them, and luckily I take pics of my minis when I'm done painting them. Just barely made it to 30 tasks done with that alone and got a free mini case the same day with basically no work lmao

I would do that, if there was a warhammer store near me...

Hey guys what are the Iyh build parts cause I’ve looked all over the booklet and I can’t find it anywhere

They changed the book recently. You can now complete the book without doing any of the IYH sections.

I tried it, I just wanted to tell you: this really really didn't work for these reasons:
    - Warhammer store owners are there for selling stuff, and they are not rude or anything, but the battle honors is NOT their priority at all, so they treat you similarly, like a low prio, in everything.
Which means that even asking small favors will result often in a no just to not waste time, not because of any principle reasons or real reasons. I.e.: can I get just a little bit a glue please to glue this shield on this base? No, I prefer not. No reason to why.
Once you buy the Warrior set, they stop caring about you, they will not help, and will not be interested in giving points on your stupid booklet, unless the store is completely empty and is just you and the store manager.
    - Some activities require booking. Stores do not have the time or patience for the painting or playing classes, so you have to book them, sometimes 2 weeks in advance, depending on the store size. Which makes the speedrun automatically impossible in these conditions. We were ready and everything, but they said "heck no, we're booked until next month, even if we have free time right now you didn't booked, so get fucked".
    - Battle Honours is ONLY for new people in warhammer for what they kept saying to us. Even if we were (kinda) new in warhammer, they kept insisting that we were not the target for the battle honors and we could not get them. It took a lot of convincing, my friend painted literally 3 minis, and I never played, but still it was a nightmare to convince them. There is still a lot of money they can make out of it (black library, paints, minis, accessories, ...) but they somehow didn't see that or didn't care.
In the end, do not do this, I recommend buying what you really want and take it slow, because you take the heavy risk of going there and not being able to do it, even with a full day + afternoon at disposal, just because they don't want to, and you cannot know before going or before buying the warrior set. Buy what you want more, according still to the rules suggested here, or buy Warrior set only if it's something you and your friend like. I wasn't enthusiastic of this set to be honest, I really wished I would have spent money on something I wanted more, but value per price is okay, so I try to consolate myself with that idea.

    ANOTHER UPDATE:
So, I went back to finish the Battle Honours and do the painting and gaming in the shop.
Those activities DO NOT count toward Battle Honours. You should instead buy and bring your own colors and minis, and even so, GW explicitely doesn't want you to complete the Battle Honors with these activities.
The main thing is that Battle Honors is for a journey for the player, and it's not about ticking boxes, they really mean that and say that, and will make everything they can to stop you from speedrunning it like I was trying to do following this tutorial.
In addition, the single activities are actually to be interpreted more freely: it's not about "buy 10 minis for increase your army", it's more about expanding your army, it's not about "painting X minis more", it's more about the painting journey, etc.
In general, I suggest you to actually do the Battle Honors slowly buying what you actually want and want to do, and go in the direction you want without hurry. They said explicitely that Battle Honors is going to be a long term project, the rewards might change, but the Battle Honors will stay for many years, so do not worry about hurrying
