This interview was EVERYTHING I hoped it would be and more. Warryn Campbell legit wrote the soundtrack for my life from boyhood to manhood! Salute to this major general in the music game! 🫡❤️👊🏾
Tank & J. Valentine are a perfect mesh of artists that are learning the craft of journalism, weekly. This was a very introspective episode w/ Warryn! Keep up the great work!
These episodes are like movies, you can't rush through them, you have to sit with it and your always gonna catch a gem when you watch them again! " You don't wanna let your occupation, run over your salvation"
Warryn Campbell is responsible for some of the biggest bangers in the 90's and 2000's. Dru Hill's How Deep Is Your Love is still heavy on my rotation list. Baby Dub not only did it in R&B music but contemporary gospel as well; Mary Mary's first album is a classic. He also produced Men Of Standard's last album Surrounded and it's one of my favorites.
"Not my daddy" with KPrice and Stokley is such an underrated classic to me. The arrangement, lyricism, emotion. Whew!! Had no idea!!!! Such a fan of his work. "We Major" form Kanye is one of my favorite songs! EVER Nice to hear about his story and undeniable imprint.
My weekends aren't complete unless I watch THE AUTHORITY ON ALLLLLLL THINGS R&B 💯💯 Thank you for educating and entertaining me and all who tune in. #ThisDatShit!
This conversation flowed like 3 of my uncles at the family gathering! 😂 So well in fact, you NEVER backtracked to Warryn going on the road with BRANDY! 😩 I was looking forward to hearing about that and the “He Is” collab. But ALWAYS a great 2 hours!✌🏾💜
People say this about everybody. But this guy is LITERALLY THE MOST SLEPT on Producer on the planet. His humility often keeps stuff from really being fully known. This man is really my top 2 or 3 producers likely of all.
That's it, Mr. Warren Campbell...literal "history" being made w/ the R&B Money podcast. 💯 All the different, beautiful, interesting & gifted people that you all interview/chat it up with, are truly special. THANK YOU! 🤎🖤🩶
Mr. Campbell is correct. Y'all are doing a fantastic job with this podcast. I learned so much from this episode. Thanks again for another great interview. 👏
This interview is so important in speaking on how Christianity in America, with Black people, is looked at. Especially when dealing with the music business. EVERYTHING is satanic to them, and it’s ridiculous. I’m glad he spoke on that.
I grew up around Quik & for the life of me, I don't understand why they won't give this whole living Legend his damn flowers!!! Dre gets all the praise when I witnessed with my eye's this man make a whole track from scratch & play so many instruments. Can you guy's please invite DJ Quik? I know it's R&B, but I'm tired of asking NORE lol. God Bless you guy's & may your show keep elevating! 💯
This was awesome! I only associated Mr. Campbell with Mary Mary so I was super excited to learn about his history in music. Much respect to his Grandfather Mr. Earnest Paul! Your son and grandson have done your legacy well.
I agree. I just associated him with Mary Mary and his wife Erica. His family history is very interesting. I love podcasts where there is genuine good conversations without cursing and bashing others. Peace and love to all.
Great Interview! I knew Warren Campbell from Mary Mary and a few other works, but to hear how he has studied, produced, and been a student of music was phenomenal! He truly was gifted from a child. It proves that the environment we place our children in and having a present, engaged father in your life, can push a child into their greatness! I love how Warren’s father (and grandfather) taught him to be limitless! His dad came from a time when pastors were traditional and strict in their religion, but he sat Warren down in a moment that could have restricted him to the church or propelled him into unrestricted and in unchartered greatness, and his father chose the latter! What a great gift to us all! I pray blessings over his gift and everything that he pursues in the future. Tank and J, I pray that you both continue to allow God to use you both in your gifts. You both are great interviewers and this podcast is amazing! If I don’t catch you live, I always go back and watch!! Be encouraged brothers!!! Warren said it best, you are making history. Look at the interviews we watch from the 60’s and 70’s! You have no idea how this podcast will affect future generations! It will teach, inspire, motivate, encourage…You are doing ministry!!! Blessings to you both!!! I’m looking forward to your next interview!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾💙💙💙
WARRYN IS A STRAIGHT PHNOMENOM!!!!! He's another Quincy Jones that can work in any arena/category of music. This POD is for the singers, musicians, writers, producers, legal & marketing side of the business, etc. INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Enjoyed this episode. You guys made me feel like I was sitting on the sofa listening. JValentine dropping knowledge and tank making everyone laugh. Warryn Campbell was definitely comfortable with you guys. It wasn't an interview it was a great conversation. Thanks for your voices of reason and educating our upcoming artist. Peace ✌️🕊️
Every time some church like music comes on. I love watching the expression on J Valentine face lol. It’s always a huge smile but he’s not sure if he wants to bounce, clap, sing, or just sit there 😂😂😂 love it.
Does anyone else go back and listen to the songs they speak of creating listening to the parts they contributed to the songs? Man this podcast is so needed. Really allows you to appreciate the music we know so well from a completely different perspective
Warren Campbell is force... He is music... Great interview, as always. Please keep them coming. You gentlemen are hitting out the park every time. Don't stop.
Baby Dubb to me is another one of those producers/singer/arranger who is so, so, so underrated as an artist! The game & stories that he was giving on this podcast was awesome! Tank & J keep doing your thing as gatekeepers of this podcast about R&B because it’s still makes $!
I SMILED and LAUGHED this WHOLE entire podcast. Tank is STUPID funny and crazy talented. SO well crafted. lol😅. Give J. Valentines his flowers NOW! because he knows his ISH. So well versed around the industry; giving legendary. AND Mr. Campbell is a musically 🎼 untouchable genius.
Glad I tuned in for this episode. I learned a lot about WC and as a fellow music nerd I will take a closer listen to his productions. Shout out to my DMV bro Tank (I’m a native who came of age in SE) and JV
Who would have known that Warren had this much personality? This episode was amazing 😍. I watched it straight through. And his musical category is more than impressive. He's in the top 1%for sure. There was no awkward silence, trying to find ways to keep the conversation going, or anyone tiptoeing around the other. I loved it. And these 2 hours flew past.
Growing up, I’ve always associated Warryn Campbell with Mary Mary. Later on I learned that he does R&B and now, learning about HIS STORY (his history), opened my eyes. I look at him in a different light. He’s a literal genius! It made me think about my dad… My dad is an Assistant Pastor, Gospel Artist and self taught Musician. He was born and raised in the church and stayed there. I would always imagine where he would be if he left those four walls. But, I know God has a plan! I thank God for my parents because just like how Warryn’s Dad told him to go and share his gift, that’s what my parents told me. They would say that the church is always going to be there. Your gift requires you to go out of these four walls. And I’m doing just that.😊 Y’all making HISTORY‼️Thank you for sharing!!!
This is my first ever comment on any video ever. I booked a flight for myself and my sister from Brooklyn, NY to Houston, TX, booked a room at the Hyatt Regency for 2 nights, rented a car from Avis to drive a few minutes from the hotel to the Hobby Center just to see Tank and got a couple hours of so so jokes from people I didn't want to see at all and just a half hour songs (about 6) from my absolute favorite singer of all time. Although he was amazing in that short time, I'm just disappointed because I was only there to hear him sing. I would have preferred for the show to have been canceled or even rescheduled than for me to be forced to sit through a comedy show where the host was funnier than the comedians just to hear a few songs. Tank said he apologized but didn't say for what and I feel like there could have been something else done to give me the experience I was expecting. If I was from Houston maybe I wouldn't be leaving this comment but I need him to know so he can do something better should he run into a similar issue in the future as I don't use any other social media and this is the only way I can get this off of my chest, I will get back to the podcast now.
I can't believe he did In a Rush by Blackstreet. That song just feels amazing and reminds me of my Pops and our road trips in 1998. R.I.P Pops. Thank you Mr. Campbell!!!
Top 5 R&B songs that I'm bumping today 1. Jason Weaver - Love ambition 2. Brandy - Almost doesnt count 3. Boys to Men - Please don't go 4. Tevin Campbell - Alone With You 5. Jodeci - Whatever you want
This was so good! I was just listening to Love You For Life today. Beautiful song ❤. Can we get El DeBarge and Dave Hollister on the blue microfibers 😂
Y'all need to animate some of these funny stories. Just shorts of some of the folks that came on the podcast. These stories soooo funny. Have me Rollin. Salute kings. Keep it going
I grew up Apostolic, no pants, no TV, no jewelry, no movies, long skirts. I am now an Apostolic Pastor but I love my jewelry, make up etc. This episode is amazing. ❤❤❤
WooooooooooooooooW!!!!!! I never knew the Illustrious, Iconic Morgan State University, world renowned Dr. Nathan Carter, and Dr. Eric Conway, and Mashica Winslow would get mentioned in this episode. I feel so honored to have been a part of this history and to have known each of them and sang for Dr. Carter, Dr. Conway and with Mashica! LEGENDS!!!!!!!!!!
Another one for the books with the G.O.A.T. He’s so knowledgeable and educated in this field and a well spoken man of God. His father taught him something that every musician should learn. Now let’s get Brandy, Joe, Missy, Smokey, Rodney Jerkins on your show🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I don’t know if y’all will see this but I have been dang near binge watching the whole podcast the last three weeks. This is a music encyclopedia not just a podcast. Thanks YT for whatever algorithm out this in front of me. I started a playlist of songs yall bring up some I forgot about and some I’m being introduced to. I’ve been listening to my playlist when I’m not watching
It’s crazy to hear him explain how “In a Rush“ came to him. I actually met him when he came to VA to record that song. I remember him playing “For Every Mountain“ on Teddy’s Rhodes and KILLING it!! Great guy!
I love this podcast. I love that it's all about the journey. I've been a business owner my entire adult life. This podcast helps me to look at my life and just appreciate everything about my journey, the ups, downs and the plateaus. I look forward to this podcast every weekend because it makes me say I can take on anything so come Monday, I'm like, bring it, let's get her done and let's level up. Thank you, Tank and J for this wonderful gift. Like Jay-Z like to say... I owe you a favor...lol.
Why every episode has me researching music and artists? Warryn Campbell knows his music history. This is truly an amazing interview. This one, Mike City and the Jamie Foxx episodes are my favorites!!
I remember Warryn's sister Joi in this David Talbert's play Love on Layaway. Beautiful voice. I didn't know she was his sister until I saw the reality show.
I thoroughly enjoyed Warren Campbell on this podcast. Thank you J Valentine and Tank for having such great podcasts. Like Warren said, "keep of the good work".
I like when he said, “ don’t let your occupation, overcome your salvation.” 💎

I love this interview. I am over 60 years old and so happy to have this podcast for the artists I admire.
Tank & J. Valentine are a perfect mesh of artists that are learning the craft of journalism, weekly. This was a very introspective episode w/ Warryn! Keep up the great work!
In my mind Mr. Campbell is the Puffy of gospel 😂❤
More like Quincy Jones.
I think Kirk Franklin is the Puffy of Gospel. Kirk be all up in videos. Dancing.
He came before Puffy’s Time… Maybe Quincy, maybe even Barry Gordy….
warryn hitting the 5th note in the key singing top five is next level.......sheesh, that was special
I know! I keep rewinding it back to listen. Warryn is definitely a producer I would sit and watch craft a song.
These episodes are like movies, you can't rush through them, you have to sit with it and your always gonna catch a gem when you watch them again! " You don't wanna let your occupation, run over your salvation"
I love that J lit up this episode! Typically Tank leads the conversations but J is in the front seat. It must be a Cali thing
Yes! I noticed that, too. Love it!!!
I agree. I think Tank's light comes from those from the church and J's light are those with the Cali connection. ♥️
That look tank gave on the top 5
He is so good looking and talented
@@am8eezy11 that Barksdale name is a Cali thing alone lol
This Was Hands Down One Of My Top Five R&B MONEY PODCAST……!

The level of guest that have been interviewed on this platform so far speaks to the respect J and Tank have engineered through the years.
Warren is a great storyteller. I’d love to hear more of his “I ain’t saying no names” stories!
Me too. And we all know he was talking about Death Row. They were notorious for torturing people.
I am ready for HIS MOVIE
I was thinking PAC since he said they died the next year. 👀
@@xperiencejay yup it was PAC
@@xperiencejayyeah I think so too.

I would have preferred for the show to have been canceled or even rescheduled than for me to be forced to sit through a comedy show where the host was funnier than the comedians just to hear a few songs. was it advertised as a concert or a comedy show? or both?
