Letter 'T' in korean is 'Teu'. So TREASURE is pronounced as 'teu-re-jo' in korean. Then the fandom name is Treasure Maker, read as 'teu-re-jo me-i-ko' and this is where the nickname was based. I think Chey choosing the shark was pretty accurate she looks like a shark but a cute one with that blue hair and the bucket hat and for Charles I think a Horse but the funny ones from the movies.
About TEU-BYE, the thing is the korean vocal EU doesn't exist for english speakers, but I am not an english speaker myself so I don't know if there would be one that resembles it more
