The book of Lehi probably gave some form of explanation and background to Lehi's relation to Ishmael as Nephi doesnt provide any details contrary to how Nephi introduces Zoram
I have always wondered why the people who took the original 116 pages never came forward after the Book of Mormon was published? Since the plates of Nephi and the plates of Lehi essentially covered the same period of time there must have been some things in common between the two narratives such as names of people and references to common events. These similarities could have still been used to discredit the Book of Mormon. Unless, those pages were eventually destroyed as some historical documents seem to suggest. If they are still in existence then why haven't they been used to try to prove Joseph Smith plagiarized someone else's work???
The sad thing is that whoever stole them, most likely did not destroy them, and they probably still exist to this day. Those who hold them should do the right thing and show some integrity in returning them to the church. It seems pretty obvious who inotially stole them, and that person had to have been in cahoots with at least one other person. However, from this individuals own account, it os so obvious that he was the thief.
Also, it is interesting to note that Jerry Grover gave a very interesting attempt at trying to decipher the Anthon Transcript which most believe came from the lost 116 pages. Possibly a variant of Hieratic Dates and numbers ruclips.net/video/yciPd61VHaY/видео.html
hello i was wondering if you may know if the recent discovery of gold plates in central america are real? i saw a video and was shocked to see the gold plates in a museum in central america. could you tell me your opinion if this is real or not thank you. the video of the discovery of gold plates is ruclips.net/video/DPNHsQQEa64/видео.html
Refusing to re-translate the lost pages feels like a missed opportunity to show Joseph’s translation abilities. Makes me question and begin to think he knew he couldn’t do it.
I don't know how well the video gets over this point, but Joseph purports the reason to be that - if he did re-translate the Book of Lehi, those who did have the original manuscript had changed it's contents; then they would be able to show others, essentially, "Hey look, Joseph claims to have re-translated the book, but what we have of 'the original' manuscript says this ________. So Joseph got it wrong the second time." And while that would have been a false accusation, it would have been a pretty convincing argument against Joseph for those investigating the Book of Mormon. I don't know if that helps, I hope it does!
In D&C 10, the Lord forbade him for re translating the texts because they may have been altered by wicked people. Joseph was so worried that he might translate false teachings that he refused. I hope this answers your vaild question
Sorry, but the explanation of wicked people “adding” information sounds like an excuse of not having the ability to rewrite what was written before. There are multiple scroll in the Bible that has been found and were written from different people and farther away from each other and those scrolls are still 99% accurate from each other. Why prophet Joseph wouldn’t be able to do it again? Perhaps he couldn’t do it???
@@ericquintero6874 Joseph Smith did make it all up and it’s a matter of logic because he couldn’t do it again when the first translations were hidden so he made the same basic story but written it a little differently that’s what he did to it.
Has anyone checked under the Seer Stone? I think it's next to the Jupiter Talisman and Mars Dagger. Isn't all that kept in the "Filthy Evil Powers of Darkness" Room?
Another great video; loved it! Thank you!
So neat to see all of this information in one place. Thank you.
Amazing. Thank you guys for sharing these videos, they truly strengthen mine, and many other's testimonies :)
You are welcome Arnold
I really enjoyed what was offered here. Thank you. I also would like to know more about the Fayette Lapham account.

Dom Bradley has great work on this everyone needs to check out!!!

@Book of Mormon Central, Could you post a source for the historical magazine mentioned at 2:00?

Jerry Grover‘s work blows my mind! His insight and meticulous methods are seriously fascinating. He’s sharper than obsidian.

@@averykirk how so? Isn’t it easy to differentiate handwriting and writing style? And God could’ve also made them lose the forged papers too

It would be nice to know more about what they think is odd or perplexing that they keep referring to throughout the video.
Thank you.
So, where can we find this account of Fayette Lapham?
Dan Vogel, Early Mormon Documents vol. 1 (1996), pp. 456-67 (originally Historical Magazine [second series] 7 (May 1870): 305-309)
Check out the link in the description of the video. It goes to an article, which has footnotes to that reference.
Pretty Cool
Love these - but would really prefer no background music
