Came to say this. Bothered me so bad watching him attempt to turn it on multiple times after it shut itself off. Eventually caused a short and burnt out something on the PCB. PSA: If your phone gets wet, allow it to dry before ever attempting to turn it on, disconnect the battery entirely if possible. It has a MUCH better chance of survival this way.
I came on here to say the same thing the phone might have been ok if it got out in rice to dry out the water. But when turned on when wet it fries it. Lol 🤦

Always dry the phone out before trying to power on. You can short the phone out and fry it. Best chances are to put it in rice for a while then try to power it on.
It’s not smart to put iPhones in rice. It can get lodged in the charging port.

When you turn it in while still wet that’s shag shorts the board out. The new ones have s fail safe which makes them supposed eater proof. They shut off with excessive moisture. Then the bag of rice or time tally works.

I used to treasure hunt there as a kid. Downstream from there are two other great treasure spots. Just downstream there is a dam that people always lose stuff below, but it is very dangerous. Just past the second part of Sclitterbahn (near the hotel rooms) is a damn with a pass through, and below that pass through I would find Oakleys back in the 90s that I'd trade tubers for beer.

We do all of our swiftwater training there at the chute. Fun place! I remember doing some training there and watched some people looking for lost stuff and the police told them they couldn’t pick those things up weird but 💁🏻♂️

And just to further push it in the algorithm, when a phone gets wet, never try to turn it on until it is dry. It can destroy it if it is not dry yet. Place it in rice for a solid day or two when it's been fully submerged like that before removing it and turning it on. Also, when burying it, make sure there is at least a half inch of rice under it, on it and on all sides to maximize the drying to every part of the phone.

if you can't swim get a life jacket and even if you can swim it's a nice to have for safety reasons. you could get seperated from the tube and if the current is strong you could be swept under kinda like that one girl was in the video.
I can’t tell you how many times I almost drowned going down the tube shoot. They didn’t used to have life guards either lol

This place is fun to go at night too as there is barely any people and the water is more clear and is also free I know that’s a fact but I’m not to sure if free at day time at night there are some gated places but last time the tube shoot was open there are lights at night but is quiet and can also be very dark like non visible and sometimes you can see deer on the sides of land overall definitely worth traveling to

For every video you come out with saying you'll be in AZ, I'm going to say you're more than welcome to stop by my hometown that is sort of on the way to Flagstaff. Farmington NM. Weve got a couple lakes where I've found treasure type things and I'd also like to offer to take you (Brandon Jordan and crew) rafting down the animals river on our raft. It's a bit out of the way but the offer stands.

I grew up in Texas and we'd go to New Braunsfels in the Summer and man, that chute is no joke. We went down without tubes or life jackets, at the end it pushes you down and hopefully you bob back up. That was the only time I thought I might actually drown in my entire life and this was before they had life guards on duty (at least I don't remember any). Fun times.

It was way better back before they stopped allowing you to go over the waterfall right below the tube chute. People would constantly flip spilling their coolers of beer, ect. I caught a real nice stripped bass in the turbulent water right at the waterfall.

Idk how safe this place really is since if the water is flowing too much that dam could suck you in instead of going down the shoot but if the waters is high and your not a good swimmer down the river a little bit is a low head dam which is nicknamed a drowning machine
