ETID is by far one of the best bands I've ever listened to in my life. I listen to a lot of music, basically everything, and I've never found something as unique and special as every time I die. I can honestly say if it wasn't for that band I might not be alive right now and that's probably the only band that I can say that about.
I’m from Rochester, NY, and Buffalo/Rochester definitely aren’t upstate man. If anything they’re western NY. But, everyone from there calls it upstate lol. I love it.
@@Jasonsnotgoodatdrums upstate is anything not Long Island, NYC, and the couple “downstate” counties just north of NYC. Then, you have the sub divisions of upstate. Western, Finger Lakes, Southern Tier, Central, Hudson Valley and North Country. Idk why people have such a problem with calling anything outside of the ADK’s “upstate”. I’ve lived in other states and telling someone you are from “upstate” and not NYC is all you have to say to get your point across to them. Doesn’t matter if it’s Elmira, Buffalo, Albany, or Lake Placid. Upstate = not the idiots in NYC.
@@tommycraven6410 I can definitely get behind that lol. I’m currently in Texas and I can confirm when I tell people I’m from NY they ask if I’m from Brooklyn, Bronx…🙄
Same! When I found out he was a wrestler I lost my shit haha! I got a picture with him at a festival where ETID was playing and it was one of my favorite moments of my life. He and Jordan are wizards on guitar
I've always admired Andy's work ethic, a true road dog. From playing guitar in Every Time I Die and touring the world with them to now having the full schedule of a wrestler, glad he's doing what he loves.
Ive spoken to him at ETIDS festival & he was the nicest guy, he stood at the exit door to talk to folks & like all of ETID was great at these shows but he was especially warm, so happy him & the blade are AEW regulars now
Literally one of the nicest dudes I've ever met. Glad to see he's having success outside of the music world. It's always cool to see someone from the diy hardcore/metal scene doing well.
Andy was a year behind me in highschool and he wrestled with my younger brother. I've seen him over the years in our home town, at grocery stores, or at the local sub shop. He is just an acquaintance of mine, but I can confidently say he has been a humble, kind and friendly dude since he was a teenager. Happy I know him and his facial hair.
Been an ETID fan for 15 years, saw the band a few times and met Andy after a show after a couple. THE nicest guy. Genuinely cool and warm. Feel awful for him that its been taken away, but he'll be fine, because he's a good dude.
@johnnytmcq that's still very much a loss? Like a divorce because of irreconcilable differences is no less earth shattering for those involved? I get you're trying to sound tough on the internet it's just shows a shockingly low level of emotional intelligence.
Saw ETID open for Mastodon a few months before AEW started on TV. I remember seeing this jacked guitar player and being blown away by them. Found out way later that he played with them.
I saw them once back in maybe ‘11-15? That doesn’t matter, however I remember seeing andy onstage and thinking to myself “damn that dude would make an awesome wrestler” honest to god my first thought of the band lol
@@rudowakening3638 yup, my heart is still broken over how this all went down. Everyone is hurt. It sucks. The final album was so good too. Was looking to see them again after the pandemic died down…and it was ripped away from me, and all of us.
Just saw Andy crush it in ATL as The Butcher this week. I was so sad about the ETID breakup (saw them multiple times) but I’m happy he has an outlet to continue to shine. He’s going to be great in the industry.
map change literally changed my life, i felt so alone and upset about everything in my life, then i heard map change and the breakdown “the glory i had witnessed…” that part, for whatever reason, gave me a reason to almost enjoy something in life for the first time in life, it got easier from there
I'm from Buffalo NY been a fan for many many years, I've always tried making to their Xmas shows every year lol, Etid was definitely one of the greatest bands I've ever heard lyrical and musical wise 🙌, it's a shame they ended 😔 , but Andy is such a talent and such a lovely guy. I am glad that he is doing something that he also loves. Shocked that people didn't know he was also doing heavy rifts in a band he helped create, besides being a wrestler. Good to hear that he is alright Much love though to all.
No ETID still hurts and will hurt for a long long time. They literally got better every album with their best being their last. Just brutal. I hope one day they can work it out for everyone's sake.
I saw them playing with mastodon and coheed in Dallas back in 2019. I was blown away by the really good riffs and just their overall sound. When they dropped radical I listened to it for like 6 months straight
I do respect and appreciate that they ended things at a high point. Now is the time to go back and reflect on the discography. I'm lucky that I still have ETID, that's new to me, to discover.
All we can hope for is Etid didn't end on such bad terms that they'll never get back together. They were a brotherhood that created some of the most iconic music in the metal scene.
Andy you're a beast on guitar. I won't forget the Paul Frank dodgeball tournament show in Costa Mesa, CA circa 2007 on the Big Dirty tour.... I was baptized in metal and beer that night and I wouldn't have it any other way.
This may sound dramatic but one of my biggest regrets is missing their final Christmas show. Granted, I didn’t know it’d be their last show, but still. ETID forever.
ETID is one of my favorite bands ever. Last two albums were soo good. Upsetting they couldn’t work it out, who knows what the next album could have been :/
Never expected that voice and personality. I figured his wrestling character was close to his real persona and his voice would be growly. What a great character actor. Not everyone can do that and seem legit.
I was at their final 2 shows. There was some obvious tension during those sets, but it felt so fucking good to not only hear those songs from Radical, but to see them put aside their differences for the hometown crowd when we knew in our guts that it was most likely going to be the last time. Didn't even care that I got covid from these shows when I heard that the ETID wheels had fallen off 🤣

Man this makes me sad. The greatest metalcore band to ever exist is no more :/ I can't believe Jordan Buckley would even imagine going on without Andy and Keith.
It sounds like Jordan, Andy, Steve and Goose never wanted to part ways with Keith at all. In fact, I think Steve’s statement on the issue was probably the closest we’ll get to know the whole truth of what went down.
Wtf are you talking about?! The rest of the dudes are jamming still. Keith got Yoko’d and doesn’t have the balls to tell his girlfriend that it’s not his friends fault that he’s an alcoholic lmao
Pro wrestling is honestly no different than being a touring musician.. it's a hard lifestyle performing infront of people and in a different city every night while living on the road. Coming from a band setting I always thought Andy would have adjusted well to the lifestyle of a pro wrestler. He's also physically in better shape now than when he first got into AEW. I remember watching the night he debuted on Dynamite when he pulled an undertaker and came out from underneath the ring through the ring mat. I immediately thought is that Andy from ETID????
I might be the only one, but if Andy misses the itch to play live, I personally would love to see him join God's Hate for a set. That'd be fuckin' SICK!!!
Andy is a legend in the hardcore/punk world. Embrace him, he’ll without a doubt shine in your sport y’all. He’s special.
RIP one of the greatest metalcore bands of all time. Wish they could have worked out their differences.
Pretty sure the band minus Keith is still in good terms. Dude is a fucking woke lunatic anyway.
@Tom Henesey 👍 👌 🙄
They suck.
They're absolutely a metalcore band. Hard rock/metal is so generic that you're essentially saying nothing.
