She is still too liberal for the other republicans to accept her. Trump (like Reagan) is a former democrat, so he can understand her position on some issues. I can see how Tulsi could be Secretary of State as she is well-spoken. But getting elected is a huge team effort and Trump will be forced to hand out positions to various people that helped him get elected. That's how political reality is. Since Trump is going to have only one future term as president, that means his VP choice is a bigger than normal deal. His VP choice will probably be the next republican president candidate after Trump's next term as president. So if he picks Tulsi as VP, can she really be the republican when on many issues (outside of free speech and border control) she will behave as a RINO)....

His vp is really not that bad of choice and the vp Plays a small part in the office. So its not as big a deal as your vote for actual president. Shanahan is a very thoughtful caring and intelligent human being and deserves a chance like anyone else. Way better than our current choices.

When Amber mentioned Trump not wanting to pick an 'identity politics' running-mate, I think that was within the context of Tim Scott. He would bring nothing to the table other than his identity. Tulsi, however, can be enough to push him over the edge with undecided voters.

First she was in line to be a Kamala, then she burned that bridge to be a Bernie Bro which didn't work out so well, then she fails at her own run to be president and when she withdraws she is rebuked by Bernie when she offers to endorse him, then she starts appearing on far right programs and changes her tune on many positions, then she starts chatting with Bobby and Trump and then discontinues cooperating with Bobby's team who was vetting her, and is now throwing a big hail Mary pass for Trump. She also claims to be anti war but was a full member of the Council on Foreign Relations while she was in government, which is as pro war as it gets.

I’m still an RFK Jr voter because I will not vote for a Republican or Democrat but Trump has at least moved the Republican Party in a better direction and him with Tulsi would be a very interesting ticket. I think Tulsi might be a very smart choice for Trump to bump up his "suburban woman" vote, which is what he needs to be doing to secure his win. Plus, she seems to be an actual principled politician who is patriotic. The downside is that she's not as conservative as you would want. But, she's also against interventionism and endless wars. She might, and this is looking pretty far ahead, be a strong candidate in 2028 against the Dems.
