  • Wooden Roller Coaster. The ride opened on 14 May 1932. No brakes on the track so a Brakeman controls the speed.

Wow the employee rides the rollercoaster for every ride controlling the break? That's amazing.

I find it fascinating that this rollercoaster is more closely related to an actual train line complete with signals and a brakeman as opposed to most modern attractions which are totally controlled by a central computer, sensors, and trim brakes. How wonderfully nostalgic.

This one really calls to me. it is clearly, not the heart stopping, fear inducing, heart in your throat. poop in you pant Mega-Monster. There is something old fashion, quaint, nostalgia inducing feeling about this one. Love the break man sitting in the middle. Just mellow fun. Kind of romantic.

I've never seen a brakeman on a coaster before.

Would this be the same coaster I rode there in the early 1970's? Obviously, I'm sure all the wood has been replaced when needed since then.
