Thanks for all you work! I'm a great fan. I builded a sequencer inspired from yours and it is the project that I'm the most proud of :) I definitively want a dark matter
UGGGH! This thing sounds gnarly. Mean that in the best way possible. But that 13hp really messes with my obsessive want to not waste hp in my case. There needs to be a rule about odd-numbered width modules.
Wombra wellll i wouldnt say no. but what they do have in common is more conceptual than audible. both softpop and darkmatter are pretty deep explorations of feedback in synthesis. softpop is control signal feedback. darkmatter is audio feedback
yup :) Distortion is sort of where it starts. Then it dives all the way into resonant oscillation and amplifier saturation as a musical voice rather than just applied FX. It can also do some pretty silky smooth tone shaping with the right soft touch. Built in envelope follower and performative control takes it even further into its own territory.
the "rolling and scratching" module!
heh! yeah i guess it is ;)
more Punk than Daft.
Thank you for these videos, I have had mine since it first came out and it is a lot of fun. Seeing other ways to patch and modulate it is great!

Got this a few weeks ago ... really great work!
Kinda the coolest damn thing ever. As a scratch dj, the crossfader is making me drool....
So cool, sounds amazing. And it cracks me up how you just rip patch cords out and it always sounds great!! \m/
*Smack!* *Boom!* Gotta love this module, Peter! Nice intro to Applied Dark Matter, a course missing at universities all over the planet!

Dude! As a cyborg.
This has a bit in common with the SoftPop, doesn't it?
Skysick no
