If conservative backbenchers are serious with the potential economic collapse yet to unfold by the end of Q1-2023 that a ‘U’ turn on unaffordable tax cuts would provide greater assurance to the market. I do not have great knowledge of individual financial markets. Understanding each individual financial market require highly specialized knowledge. The three commentators were speaking about how the UK government (Tory Ruling Party) was implementing fiscal policies to accelerate the economy while the Bank of England (central bank) was implementing monetary policies to slow the economy. There were some concerns about how these 2 institutions were operating in opposite directions. Actually in a developed, industrialized, democratic republican civilization these two institutions are doing exactly what they should be doing. In a democratic society, an elected government tends to do things (spending money) that make the people happy (fiscal irresponsibility). The central bank (Bank of England) is given independence from the whims of the elected government (ruling Tory Party) and is staffed by qualified economists (proper work experience and education) to do what make sense based on economic principles. It is this safe guard that separates absolute-power, authoritarian governments who control all governing institutions from modern, democratic republics. Of course, we know this can cause conflicts between government institutions. As evidenced by the ruling Tory Party castigating economists in the Treasury, OBR, and Bank of England. Calling the Treasury, OBR, and Bank of England economic projections after Brexit as "Project Fear." There are no experts just self-serving, corrupt government officials. This type of political maneuvering has exhausted the confidence that the English people have in their own institutions. When the people lose faith in their government the politicians who threw the stones will suffer the fate of those stones.

Hope someone can answer a couple of questions for me. Will this "Budget" be voted on? If so, would it be a vote on all the measures in it, as one entity? If that was the plan, could amendments be made in the HoC to split off the fuel payments from other aspects of it eg end to top rate of tax and/or unregulating bankers bonuses? The latter two are pretty much universally unpopular, but if presented as part of a package, Labour couldn't vote it down, because of the fuel payments. If seems very like the way Republicans have historically inserted completely unrelated measures into larger Dem bills, in order to get them through legislation. The whole situation is worrying, but this manipulation of democracy ultimately worries me more.

It is the Uk response to Ukraine that has made the existing crisis worse. Is it right we are being asked to foot a massive bill for Ukraine when the people who live in the land concerned have themselves said they don't want to be part of Ukraine. This is a localised issue not one for our intervention. We need to focus on UK problems NOT Ukraines

PURE BS... Tory smoke screen to hide their fk ups!! It is part yes but not the main reason.
Shw worked for BP and then refuses to tax them appropiatley, coincidence?
5% tax relief for top 1% of earners, to start growth??? HOW??
More blame and pressure on the poorest in society??? for productivity?
All this is purely to feed the coffers of tory donors and keep big business happy ,so they get a job worth billions when they are kicked out. Irony??

The great action she did, was plummet the pound. All mouth wiping out private pensions. And don't get me on the housing crisis that just starting.
Must say Liz did help her further, to sorting the pound + giving her friends a big old tax cut. Yeah she's helping...... her friends & for the UK citizens. That would be a big fat NO

This economic strategy sits on the shoulders of Liz, the Tories have one arrow to fire to restore confidence, I hope they use that arrow wisely.
