The best representation of this character ever. It’s one of those you have to have in hand to really appreciate.
I definitely appreciate the haircut
I love the story of the creation of this line. Cool fig too!
It's nuts that this story doesn't have more recognition
Nice. Got mine last year. Sun man is classic 80s
A first-rate review of Sun-Man and his cool accessories!☀️
Thank you for watching
@@TMan978 Phenomenal work! 👍
I had the original figure as a kid and was so happy to see a black he man. I actually used him as a multiverse figure
So for you he was just straight up He-Man?
His head sculpt looks like it could be used for spawn
Looks too cartoon to me
Great review! Love the story behind the creation of this line. I actually used this figure and the origins version to do a presentation for black history month last year. Glad you added the link to pixel Dans review. I enjoyed that as well.
That needs to be bigger history. A black lady in the '80s created a whole toy line and sold 5 million figures.
Sun Man is cool. But I've been waiting 40 yrs to get a Garn figure. The 1st black man from that episode in season 1. Dude was fierce.
I guess I have some research to do
@@TMan978 No worries. Almost everybody overlooks episode 27 apparently.
I always wanted this. I have a mattel outlet near my house that had motu that I never saw at the stores
Do you mean the original toy or this actual figure?
The headsculpt is based on Yla Eason's son. It definitely looks like its from his younger years, or the man has good genes and looks young in real life.
He should be around my age. I'm sure they didn't want the character to look old so it's most likely just loosely based. It still looks like a Ken doll to me
Good review I picked him up last year and I'm satisfied
Cool cool
Not into MOTU, but that Ares was really interesting.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hi again. Great that you reviewed Sun-Man. I bought my copy last November when he was on sale at Target. I initially wanted him for his armor and wings that I could put on my other male Masterverse figures, but Sun-Man happened to be great on his own. My only nitpick is that I wish that he'd wear green boxing shorts instead of trunks. Sorry. Been watching clips of boxing matches on occasion. I'll add that you forgot to show how his chest armor is removable.
I figured everybody could see the straps on the side. I didn't want to undress him in public
@@TMan978 I suppose that you also know that the straps in his chest armor can be tight? Newer Masterverse figures have phased them out in favor of pegs for wearable armor.
Looks cool!. Nothing like the OG. Great 🧊Chill🧊 Review ✨️😃
The OG had those weird wings on his neck. Lol
The gold on top of the red looks so damn clean especially the boots & gauntlets. Did you grab yours on clearance at Target?
I can't remember. I bought it a long time ago. I probably didn't pay full price
@@TMan978 I gotcha. I always forget to check Masterverse stuff when I do Target runs. $11 on Amazon is a great price
I guess I’ll check out Pixel Dan’s video. It sounds interesting. This video showcased the Sun-Man figure. I think the stylized wings/cape thing from Origins or the original figure gives it a unique look. Did the Masterverse one have a swappable accessory that mimics it?
I would have definitely shown that.
I have this figure as well. I realy enjoy him but it would be nice to know about his powers. Keep up the good work TMan
I shall try. Do you want to hear some crazy coincidence? When I opened up RUclips just before reading this comment a video detailing his powers came up. He's basically crazy Superman levels of strong. He's pretty much a god
@@TMan978 So he can keep He-man’s ass. Lol
Pretty dope figure . Might get it next time I see it
You should if you like it
I have the origins version of this character, it's a cool design!
How's it going to get that one but then this one came out
Nice review
Thanks
I just got into the MTOU line and got several figures dirt cheap. I was surprised how much I like them. I wish they had butterfly joints and just wondering but is the body mold used on the MTOU line the same as the WWF figures?
No. They're different. The WWE ultimates have butterfly if I'm remembering correctly
When they got the rights to sun man a few years back I thought they were inevitably probably going to do the same with the other "not he man" line, Galaxy warriors, but that never happened.
This guys like weirdly the only figure that's ever been in stock at places by me the last year or so and he's on clearance in some of them now lmao. Really decent figure but either distribution's weirder than it was a few years ago or they grossly overestimated how in demand sun man would be.
I think Target ordered a lot
@@TMan978 Probably a similar case with Amazon given the fact I saw he's marked down to 11 on there. Kinda reminds me of the Overlord situation with transformers from a few years ago, still kinda wish I grabbed one of those when they were down to like $20. Jhiaxus kinda had a similar thing happen but didn't see any real good markdowns.
Seems every time some company brings back a kinda popular but slightly obscure character that hasn't had a figure in decades this ends up happening. When they first come out you can't find em anywhere but then you can't stop seeing them like a year after.
👍👍
Thank you for clicking
Cool review.l
Thank you
I commented, because you told me to comment. So hopefully this comment fulfills the comment quota 😜.
Well I'm happy because you stayed this long into the video
Yo!✌🏻🤦🏻♂️🫵😮👍
Yo!
😊👍🏾🎥
Thanks for watching
@@TMan978 your welcome bro.
Yeah you pretty much said the basics of the toy's conception. I remember it like it was yesterday. He-Man was my favorite character growing up and was SUPER excited to see Sun Man right next to He-Man!
I just hate that she sold out. That's the thing with Black folks: they scream, "Buy from us! We're Black owned!" But as soon as we get it poppin, they turn around and sell it to someone who isn't Black.
Ish is irritating AF.
I'm sure in her mind she was thinking to herself, I'm not doing anything with this license and they want to give me money, here you go!
@TMan978 I just think they bought it to shelve it. She was able to make a whole wave with the exact same bodies as MOTU and was able to get them in big chain retail stores. That was a lot for a Black woman to do in the 80's. Think of all the other figures that Mattel cared nothing about and let die out. She had something with this and Mattel knew it.
