I went to ballet today wearing my short black ballet dress over green joggers with a sequin stripe. Nobody looked at me twice - but then I am 75 - perhaps I should have done the sheers!
If you live in eastern europe like I do you see people wearing parka on top of a dress every year during autumn/winter 😂 this trend is kinda real life inspired 😂
I live in the Midwest. Wearing a parka over dressy clothing is survivalist and would never feel fashion to me!! 😂 Maybe sheer and dress over pants feel the best out of these. Interested to see how these filter from the runway into average closets.
i think id label this season: "uhhh were transitioning rn and trying to figure out uhh... where we are going for the second half of the 2020s uhhh... please hold"
Hi Hannah, I love the dress over pants trend. I would also love you to style the trends you like with pieces you already have in your closet. That would be inspiring! Greetings from Germany...from one of your poetry book readers 😊
Utilitarian, shorter, more casual parkas over evening gowns makes me think of prom, when you're a teenager with very few options, or maybe your boyfriend loaned you a coat that didn't match. I don't mind it, though. I wore an old beige trench coat over a teal lace gown once and kind of loved it because it felt very out of place with the dress, but at the same time, the length seemed more appropriate. If we do polka dots, can someone make a dress that reminds me of the one Julia Roberts wore in Pretty Woman, though? Brown is supposed to be in, too. Perfect confluence of trends for this.
Maybe it has to do with being an elder emo but for me the resurgence of those specific prints: polka dot, plaid, and recently leopard, just brings me back to going to shows in high school and I am here for it.
Is anyone else feeling like this is a project runway at the thrift shop challenge? Like none of it is for me, but I don't hate it, but it feels old too
I have been at my desk at home all day, working on longer projects, and have had your wardrobe declutters playing in the background as the best company for my Friday. And I clicked on your channel and see a brand new video released 46 minutes ago! What a massive treat for my Friday early evening viewing. You have been absolutely cranking out the videos at enormous speed. I hope that you, Joe, baby and editor are all doing well and are taking enough time to rest.
Plzzzzz make a styling dresses over pants video… some of us really need it not for fashion but cultural and religious reasons but it would be great if we can figure out what length and width of pants with what length and flare of dress works best… I live in Pakistan where we always wear pants or leggings under dresses even if it’s midi length… that’s why I prefer to wear only maxi dresses so that I don’t have to worry about the type of pants I have to match with the dress but I still have quite few knee length and midi dresses that I struggle to pair with pants that suits best to it… I am so glad that it becomes a trend now so I will be getting new ideas now but would really appreciate if you make a video on it ❤
"It got cold during the evening, so I borrowed my boyfriend's jacket" Ensemble. I'm kinda living for it. I would totally do that! A hoodie over sequins.
Last year I bought knit long dresses from Cos, and I wore them over satin wide legs pants. Long dresses over long flowy pants is very chic and very achievable. Short over long is not a profile I particularly like.
All these looks look so old... and I'm saying this as someone who thrifts most of their clothes 😆 At the moment, I'm leaning into "the more mismatched the better". The crazier the outfit, the braver I feel.
I already do dress over pants... And maybe you could say that I Am an European (Italian living in Spain) artist.... 😂❤ totally in love with you and your fashion videos, even if I really don't care about fashion anymore
The toddler struggle is real 😂. Cheering you and Joe on, hope you find that one item that he has apparently thrown in the void (there's always one like that)
I lived in Germany 2019-2023, and I saw a LOT of dresses over pants, especially sweater dresses over skinny or bootcut jeans. This is not new for them, but maybe new for the USA. It also made dresses wearable during the cold winter.
One can really tell fashion is transitioning from minimalism, but otherwise, has no idea where anything is heading trend-wise. They're just are literally throwing everything maximalist (prints, silhouettes, styles, etc) at the wall to see what sticks and becomes the "real" trend(s) 😂
Yes, please video trying out trends from your closet, so fun! I’ve done the dress over pants, but not recently. I like it best when it’s monochromatic or tonal. Also with longer hemlines on the dress and pants… ❤ volume. Maybe I’ll poke around my closet, I’m feeling inspired. 😊
Ahhh I actually love polka dots. I just think they're alternative and classic and get a bad rap. They can be a bit vintagey but don't have to be. Just my two cents.
One leg out already exists. We've seen it (for the past few years) at Maryam Nassir Zadeh, Sarah Aphrodite, Zachariah Fairfax, Ksenia Schnaider, Eckhaus Latta, Pushbutto and probably many more I don't remember now.
A little tutu would be the perfect Mini of The Season... that's the main one that intrigued me as a bit of a demure girlie. I also hate polka dots though, they just always read as cheap to me- probably because of terrible plastic minnie mouse costumes from childhood and the like.
Such a fun video! I’m here for all the shade throwing you want to do. 😂 But listen … if you live somewhere that’s omg-f-ing freezing, go ahead and wear your parka over your sparkles, and take the parka off IMMEDIATELY after reaching your destination. Otherwise you just look like you got dressed, got So Drunk you could barely function, and put on the first coat you came to that probably wasn’t even your coat. I’m zero-fashion girl, and even I can see the appeal of dress-over-pants, bi-level hems, and ruffles galore. But parka-over-formal wear? Nope. Drunk. Perhaps insufferably pretentious and drunk. 🙄 But hey! Have fun! Old ladies who don’t care about fashion are NOT the people you should listen to! 😂 🥰
But what about… a dress over one pant leg!? 😂 but honestly I’m not against the one pant leg thing if it’s just a strip of skin on one leg showing, like from a boot/short combo paired with a full pant leg. 🤷♀️
Polka dots refer more to the 60s esthetic which is heavily emerging in both fashion and interior design. For me all these bits presented by Harpers are outdated - mark my words for 2025 wrap up
Just nothing that interested/excited me. And some of this stuff (I’m talking to you, parkas) is what I had to wear when I was young and poor….not going back if I can help it.
I don't follow fashion closely, you are my only source of fashion news. Spots are always welcome, in my closet but they have to be itty bitty and sheer as f. I understand though, can't they use another shape instead of circles and stripes. Any other polygon! More sheer things for me. We are peak summer in Australia and I'm smelting.

“As a normal person…as a relatively normal person….lets just say as a person.”😂
"I don't like it, I wish it would go away" 😂 ICONIC
I love nothing more than when Hannah throws shade to the writing/copyediting of articles when referenced.
I loved this video - and particularly enjoyed your commentary!
If you live in eastern europe like I do you see people wearing parka on top of a dress every year during autumn/winter 😂 this trend is kinda real life inspired 😂
I’m more pleased by your critique than any of the “style-ish”offerings I’ve seen so far. ❤

I've been bingeing Bliss Foster videos. I think you would love that channel.

I completely forgot about that dress! It was so awesome ❤

I have zero appetite to be any kind of demure at the moment, subverted or otherwise. I'm going for 'No.' as a fashion vibe atm.

I'm here for the dress over the pants. Yup. I have some ideas from my closet.
🌸 I like a ‘sheer’ look now and then.
Brilliant Hanna! Looking forward to the next video 👌

One Leg Out One Leg In to me just looks like a dancer who has hiked up one leg of their pants in class. 😂
the one leg out trend reminds me of the holes in the shirts from mean girls...👀
Oh lol I’m not wearing a North Face windbreaker over my evening gown. Get real fashion folks lol
Fr lmao

'So glad you pointed that out, Nicole' 😂
If I was one of the models I'd be like, "Think of the money...think of the money..." as I walked the catwalk in those absurd outfits.
Same for the journaliste who have to product 800 words encouragent people to see and buy. This whole season is a miss for me.
Pleeeease replicate your old video where you tried to use your own wardrobe to evoke the new trends!
I have a white gold linjer chain necklace. It’s really sparkly and good quality. I also have a silver ring from them i love.
I feel like these are all early 2000s trends that have come back around!
Finally! Enough with the neutrals, minimalism, plain boring clothes. So happy to see all of these
Stripes, dots and plaid fan here... this is my time. But also 80 liz caliborne with always be available on ebay.

The usage shade cast here... 😂❤
Dresses over trousers reminds me of that classic Vietnamese smock (the name espaces me…) with a bit slit. They are gorgeous!
Hannah, do you ever get tempted to make your own clothes given that you obviously have the skills to do so
I cannot wear mini dresses, but I would love to. So I'll be trying a mini dress over pants in the near future.
A little tutu would be the perfect Mini of The Season... that's the main one that intrigued me as a bit of a demure girlie. I also hate polka dots though, they just always read as cheap to me- probably because of terrible plastic minnie mouse costumes from childhood and the like.
Florals 😂
"Florals... For spring... Groundbreaking!"

you slowly doubting the adjective “normal” as an identifier. 😂
the “ornate ornament” writing is simply ridiculous
I feel like it was written that way on purpose, it kinda makes sense if we look at the "trend" in question, lol
❤❤❤
❤
Oh I am so sick of the word demure.
Overarching is pronounced like this m.ruclips.net/video/4RKD_YpCapE/видео.html
Love your channel btw x
