    It is pretty amazing that a machine from the early 40s still looks like its from 50 years in the future in, now, 2016.

      Stainless steel doesn't rust like steel... Nor does the paint fade as much either. There are reasons why Via and Amtrak continue to use stainless steel... Amtrak may paint the locomotives, but the Superliner, Viewliner, and Amfleet cars are stainless steel...

    METRA usually only has one diesel per train; so they install a cab and controls in the last car to allow for trains to run backward. I don't think they really go a long ways, not like Amtrak. But it is possible to do so, and I think it wouldn't hurt the diesel, or cars to make long trips.

    • @DelayInBlockProductions
      @DelayInBlockProductions  10 лет назад +1

      It wasn't actually backing up, rather, the locomotive was pushing on the end of the train and the engineer was controlling it from one of the passenger cars. It makes it easy for the train crews because they don't have to turn the train around.

    First of all, no. I don't talk to my mother that way. Talk like that is only worthy of those who are worthless. Like you. I was with a friend of mine. We only had one day in Chicago to tape, we didn't have time to stay for the return trip or for the next day where we might have an opportunity to catch and chase it outside of Chicago. You try catching up to something at a constant speed when you're being stopped by all sorts of traffic lights and other drivers.
