I'm in❣️ I have a sense of an overarching Creative Spirit. Such that even when one creates alone one is contributing to the collective. For instance I regularly go to a beach here to sing, chant and/or play my jaw harps. Sometimes I'm inspired to give voice at full volume with full joy. Afterwards I feel I have successfully lifted the Collective Spirit. 🍀🙏🍀
You ARE lifting our Collective Spirit - you certainly have lifted mine. I believe you and agree with you 100%: a creative person joyfully practicing his or her art emits a peaceful, happy, uplifting signal. That's you, my friend!
@@katechadbournebard Thankyou 🙏. Further thoughts today on the theme: I feel the folk songs you talk of, and surely all traditional songs, have their own Spirit as well that is nurtured over the years by the people who play and sing them. Be it at the pub, huddled in a bothy or out in field accompanied by larks it is a happy Song to be given voice and tune.
I'm so excited for you and your friends to be IN. Let's make something great and cheer each other on as we create and enjoy. Thank you for being here and being IN!
Kate - I'm in! The days are leaning to autumn here -- my favorite season -- all is so clear and crisp and giving an opening to create. Love you. Thank you!
You're the best, a Mhaire, and I'm so happy to "see" you here or anywhere, for that matter! I love how you put that, too: "The days are leaning to autumn." That's a poem IMHO :). I love this time so much as you do - the cool mornings, the warm sun in the afternoon, the earlier dusk, the first hints of color. We are lucky. Love you, a chara dhil!
In reference to one of your previous videos....I am brought back to the sad memory of being made to look a fool in front of my classmates and later told I was not 'college material' which has affected my entire life. I got good grades in school and from an early age loved writing and continue to write many styles of anecdotes and stories among them a collection of Celtic Fairy Tales, inspired upon my several visits to Ireland. I have written many fables and little short stories as well as several memorial accounts for friends. Most of my stories are the result of listening to people share their lives, their joys and their sorrows. I am not a published author but have given each story written especially for an individual to them. Writing is my art and joy and when I become distressed by a sad memory of the past, I find joy in writing and finding expression in the beauty of life. (Char)
Char, I'm so glad you're here and thank you so much for sharing your love of writing with us. That's truly inspiring, and I love that you give your pieces as presents to friends: what a gift that is! Finally, I want to tell you how sorry I am that you were made to feel in any way "less than." I hope you can see that the people who did that did NOT see the truth of you; they were looking through a very narrow glass and they revealed their own limitations. You are so much more than that. I salute you, passionate Writer!
I’m in. Again this one took me some pondering. Participation and engagement. That’s my goal at leading song circles at my local library and farmers market. I strive for everyone to feel welcome, listened to, and valued. It’s taken me years to get past my natural tendency of what I call the “egotistical introvert”. Go raibh maith agat.
As always, a Mhicheail, you make me laugh! The "egotistical introvert" is wonderful, and I hope you put it in a poem. :) You are definitely a success, and I hope you feel that. Look at how many great songs you've made and look at how many people you've encouraged to make and share theirs. This, to me, is REAL success.
I really appreciate your videos. I'm an Irish learner and I'm having trouble parsing what you are saying at 4:52 translated as "I'm just a link in the chain" I can hear "Níl ... ceangle (sp?) sa slabhra" ... any guidance would be appreciated.
