I finally found the time to listen to Tchaikovsky’s 6th Symphony which imo is truly a masterpiece! I first downloaded the pdf to get the information for the instruments and movements and then clicked the link to the live performance and it was so beautiful that I had to to listen to the whole piece to the end because of how intense and emotional it sounded to me. Thank you so much for this, it was very powerful and beautiful! ☮️🙏🌎🎵

This was AMAZING! I am an early educator and I wanted to do a unit on orchestras, so this was so helpful for curriculum prep. Thank you!

The "Horn" that is played now days is an iteration of the German styles and French. Technically they are more German horns due to Bb side rather then the natural horn where the F crook was most commonly used, and for Vienna Horns; they are used to mimic Natural horns and a rarely used due to the limitation of crooks.

In the woodwinds picture, it says bass oboe but that is actually an English horn. They are both close relatives of the oboe but not to be confused. A bass oboe has a bocal that is longer but it looks more like a mini bassoon bocal and the instrument itself is much longer.

Also, you could do physics of music videos if you wanted. Start with the Doppler effect, oVer tones, equal temperament, helmholtz resonance, etc. science.

We've thrown the idea around the idea of doing stream classes a few times. Maybe if there's enough interest?

Yes, what +Septobus said. It's something I would definitely consider doing for the future.

Great video! Interesting and entertaining. I always learn many new things from these videos.
But…That stock picture of mallet family was sad. Those aren’t xylophones. The glockenspiell or bells along with xylophone, marimba, and chimes look like the vibraphone on the right; like a piano keyboard. And does that say vibraphone or uibraphone? ubraphone?
    Sorry, i so harsh.

Fantastic video. 6:46 “lowest brass instruments” should’ve been lowest “woodwind” instruments. No biggie. This is a great introduction to beginning to moderate players for understanding classical orchestra. I’m a jazz musician currently enthralled with opera and baroque music. Bye!
Oh wait, do a music history video about baroque, Fauré, Rachmaninov, and yourself.
