I have 2025 christmas in the rhine booked. Question: I’m assuming if we go to a different excursion than the Christmas Market one, we would miss the Christmas Market for that port? How many ports can you walk to the Christmas Market?
I have the same question. I travel this December and will repost the answer when I find out first hand. I think we are going to only do a few of the extra ones because we DO NOT want to miss the Christmas markets
Yes, if you book one of the optional excursions, you will likely miss the Christmas Market that is included as part of the "Included" excursion. However, there are exceptions. I am also traveling in 2025, and it shows that you will be in Cologne and Strasbourg all day. So, if you do the optional excursions on those days, you will likely still have time to visit the Christmas Markets in Cologne and Strasbourg. However, some of the optional excursions have Christmas Markets as well. The examples that I can think of are: Heidelberg on Day 5 and Colmar/Riquewihr on Day 7. BTW - I count a total of 6 day and 6 night Christmas Markets "available" without doing any of the optional excursions. We are doing the pre-excursion in Amsterdam, and we plan to visit their markets, so I count those as a day and night market because we plan to visit the Amsterdam markets.
which one would you recommend that's a better itinerary to see christmas markets in November - Rhine Getaway or the Romantic Danube?
