I've been editing for a while so here's a load of practical editing techniques I've found very useful over the past 5 years + that'll help speed up the editing process so you can go make that dough.

im being forced to use premiere for a friends film company, i miss davinci it does so much more as is, now i need to learn premiere and after effects. i learned premiere pretty easily but damn AE is a beast.

Yes to all this! But to get Premiere to work better you need a PC. Specifically a Intel CPU (12th gen and up) on Windows 11. I've worked on so many platforms over the years and for some reason this combo has ZERO problems. Great content my man. Subbed.

I’ve been editing on premiere for almost 2 years now and I just barely started implementing custom presets a few months ago (I was pissed I didn’t do it earlier bc I saved 10 hours on the very next project 😭)

For the love of god don't listen to this guy when it comes to using video game music. You are not protected and companies claim and strike down videos all the time for this. Stick to using resources like epidemic sound where you are protected by this type of thing. I've seen entire channels go down because of this. Companies like Nintendo claim they won't go after channels, but that could change at any time and there's nothing binding them to keep their word.
Or just don't use music
@@grassmanilyas For certain types of channels music is essential, and for most others it adds a nice touch. There are sites like the one I listed above and others that will fioght any false copyrights you get and keep you protected
It is very likey that the channels you're referring to used music that the game's creator/owner did not own the license to. It is fairly common for game studios to license music for only a certain period of time. When the license expires you will get claimed if you made a video using the music as the game studio no longer has the right to let you use it and im sure the company who otherwise owns the songs will want their money. A famous example of this is spec ops the line. In conclusion, before using video game music, check who owns the license and if/when it will expire but generally you should absolutely be fine using music for AAA games like minecraft cod, battlefield and so on.
@@theaveragewarthunderplayer Nope, a lot of them were from companies people that they had permission to use. The problem is there are a bunch of scam companies that go around false copywriting music and act as the game companies and there's literally no way to stop it. That';s why most successful channels use sites that combat this by fighting the claims. That combined with compaines saying you can use their music (like Nintendo) have no duty to keep their word and can strike (and have before) and you can't do anything about it. Go ahead and argue this and do what you want, just don't complain whjen your channel gets torn down by scammers or companies.

Hey, you mentioned to use gaming soundtracks if you are on a budget. Hows that? Are Gaming Soundtracks not Copyrighted?
They're copyrighted, but you won't get flagged for them on RUclips (otherwise not a single gaming video would be monetized on the platform lol). Basically most gaming companies won't touch your video just for using a soundtrack (I say most because there's always exceptions I guess).
I've done this several times before with no issues and seen big creators do it too!

Hey what do I do when I’m halfway done with a video, but premiere pro has starting running slowly and when I click “export” it tells me the video is currently 18gbs? 🌝
Press enter key to render parts of the video running slowly, as for export settings just RUclips a couple videos on exporting possibly your bitrate settings might be too high.
@@tommovision thanks for replying. It’s not parts of the video, it’s more like a delay when I try to move an object. Even if it’s just a few pixels or halfway across the screen, it takes a few seconds to load. But I found out that if I just create new sequences and work in those, it works a lot better.

Good tips, but using gaming soundtracks in your edits is a bad idea. They are copyrighted works of art.
Fair point. I've done this and a lot of larger RUclipsrs too, but you're right and the risk of a strike will largely depend on the company that owns the track (for eg. I've seen Skyrim soundtracks used everywhere with no problems, but legally speaking the videos could still be struck).
that's a lav mic, friend-o, not a hand held. you literally could just set it on the desk in front of you and it will be just as efficient w/o the silly visual of you holding it up to your face. really hard to take audio advice from someone who doesn't understand basic gear applications.
holding a microphone rather than having it on a stand or your body is a technique comedians / singers / presenters have done for decades because people naturally don't know what to do with their hands and it's less awkward

Not some bullshit RUclips on the street content but an actual professional production. You can't do it bc professionals don't use lav mics as handhelds. And if the excuse is "my hands" that's a public speaking issue w the presenter, not a gear issue.

The lav thing may not bother you but it is- objectively- misuse of audio equipment in a video about getting better audio. I am giving this person specific feedback that this misuse visually undermines the expertise of their advice.
