There is a red ream, and there is Project Zero. Also any employee can sign-up for week long pentest exercise if you have an idea of something to try. Doing well on the interviews matters more than certifications.

Cybersecurity, broadly, has 3 areas: Red Team/Offensive Security - deals with acting as a threat actor to find new vulnerabilities in the system Blue Team/Defensive Security - deals with setting up and protecting secure infrastructure Purple Team - little bit of both, threat detection, automation, etc. There are numerous other niches in security related to different systems, softwares, libraries, and infrastructure too. Try exploring different areas in the field and see what interests you most. Hope this helps!

Make a project on every topic that interests you in cybersecurity. Even a small project, it'll give you hands on experience. Application deadlines vary on internship and company.

Hey, you don't need a super fancy laptop for cybersecurity. Something with 16 GB RAM, a 500+GB drive, and a recent CPU is good enough. I'd recommend running Linux on the recent Lenovo ThinkPads
I don't get it I know way smarter people;e who can't land an intern position at google and they passed their interview some don't even get one.. what I don['t get is their hiring process how does it work?

It's certainly different. You need to demonstrate domain knowledge as well as basic problem solving.
