Well not everyone has the money to evacuate. Especially with the inflation. I got through Ian I’ll get through this God has me he provided us with a place here in north Florida after losing our place during Ian. God has me.
Please let your viewers know that last night over 29 Citgo stations and some 7-11,s received contaminated fuel. Apparently someone mixed up diesel fuel with regular gas 😮
Please if you are a newbie to Florida, please heed the warnings! Hurricanes are very, very unpredictable. The models are the experts best guess. They have been know to change course on a dime. I have lived with Hurricanes all my life. I have known people that did not leave and died! Please, please if you are told to evacuate...evacuate. Stay safe.
Wow had a bad feeling that once it’s passes florida it’s not exactly done.. that is the worst luck of all time if it comes back on the eastern side a week later
Thx again Nate! Please say a prayer the hubby gets home tomorrow. Unfortunately, he has to drive from Jacksonville to Pensacola and I’m getting a bit stressed out.
If if if, they combine, the entire skinny part of FL could breach from the Gulf and Atlantic. If it ever happens, Florida would become an island state.
DeSantis said he got 650 starlink sats overhead at will and for what? DEW better prepare for some annihilation they could use storm as cover to destroy at will anything
Power outages are imminent, too. Now is the time to cook perishables, stock up on ice; check flashlight & radio batteries; plug in power bank chargers, etc. We lost power for 3 days when Michael hit a few years back - not fun. (Thank you, Nate.)
When Hurricane Camille was about where TS Idalia is right now, it shot directly north, building up into a Category 5 by the time it made landfall. Keeping my fingers crossed that Idalia doesn't do the same thing to Florida!
The Area from Appalachicola to Tampa Bay and Sarasota, and down through to Venice has seen too many false alarms over the years. Not that I'm blaming the forecasters, they do what they can and they don't always get it right.
@@statesoftheunited7049 born and raised. But the reason I said that is because if Tampa gets hit head on, its worst case scenario. But every year they're lucky. Native American sprits I guess.
@@edwardmiessner6502 I hear ya. It's hard to predict these especially with the rapid intensification. I think its because if Tampa were to be hit dead on but a major hurricane, it would be major.

Great video Nate...as usual! Question....Since when do the storms intensify during cooled conditions at night? I’ve never noticed that ...even with Katrina. But I’m a nurse not a meteorologist by trade...but I have been an avid weather observer all my life. I know it’s the water temp that is the basic growth indicator, but I’ve just never seen such growth overnight. Or the 3 hr difference might be what the difference is! Lol
The water temperatures are way too warm. When they were predicting this would be a Cat 1 late last week, I was skeptical. We've seen too many hurricanes completely blow up when going through the warm waters of the Gulf. Hopefully it doesn't reach Cat 3 status, but now it's a good chance it reaches that status.
These tornadoes hurricanes whatever you want to call them are going to meet in Florida. Understanding the laser technology then I'll comes from the Moon peace love humans.
I live in Tampa/Lutz but am not in an evacuation zone. Are you saying everyone in Tampa should evacuate? I won't be able to because I have to ride out the storm at the nearby hospital where I work. However my family will still be at home. I figured they'd be safe since we're not in an evacuation zone.
Great post N8, you were born for this. Thank you for the info and for such exceptional, detailed breakdown. No-nonsense meteorology and scientific analysis. The same thing, with a double punch and hurricane turning back after was already in Atlantic Ocean, happened in 2004. Witnessed it and could not believe it....🌎🌀⛈🌊🌪
Thanks Nate, another great report. I sure hope that bounce back to Florida doesn't happen, we just changed our travel plans to Tampa. but it's good to know that it's a possibilty
A predicted 7 to 11 foot storm surge and possible 15, and the houses on stilts will still get flooded? I thought the stilts were tall enough in the Big Bend area of the FGC. Maybe I'm wrong 🤔

This affects Tampa area and Central Florida.
Thank you so much for mentioning this
@@Tornado_GrammyYou are very welcome. I can't imagine the back ups to get gas up there during an Evacuation and a lot less gas available.😢❤

If you guys are in an evacuation zone, or a flood prone area: I would evacuate. Surge will be higher than forecasted by a foot or 2.
