She spent $8000 on two dresses and she is complaining about the budget. Over $6000 on one dress for one day is crazy.
I find it really unbelievable that someone will spend more on the gown than the diamond ring they are going to wear for 50 years....
She actually spent (wait, not spent, wasted) just shy of $9500.00 for both those dresses once everything was totaled. The total for just these equals MORE than half of the amount they over budget on. Without these 2 outrageously priced dresses they could have brought their debt from approx $13,000 down to $3,500.
It wasn't even a nice dress. The one she tried on before that was half the price was way nicer.
WOW! How & why did he choose her?? My Husband was a Firefighter and NO WAY I'd think of leaving his "BROTHERS" out of our wedding. Sadly my husband has passed but the guys & their wives are still here for me.

She is inconsiderate and to be honest neither of bride or groom are "classy" "elegant" sophisticated. They honestly come off as low class people wanting others to think they are "high class". They should be their best selves. Not some image of grandiosity. That being said the place was elegant and formal. From what I could see it is a concern that the guests had to pay or rent black tie outfits. Unless you are running with Hollywood who dresses like that all the time. I get it; it's their wedding. They seemed to have fun but I wouldn't exactly say this was high class elegance.

black tie my arse. It is ok for a women to wear a gown or cocktail dress. You can wear that again and again. But to expect a guy to buy a tux or rent a tux to wear one time.... ridiculous. Suit and tie is just fine for guests. Cut back on the wedding gift if you need to spend hundreds on a tux rental
IMO buying a Tuxedo is MUCH easier to wear again and again than a dress that goes in and out of fashion....H&M, Zara and other places do tuxes fairly inexpensively. Also, quite easy to lend one to friends of similar build (suit pants can be worn). But just as an eg my Pa's Tuxedo has been worn not only by him but his sons, his niece's husband, friends etc - and that's for over 30 yrs - savings on rentals HUGE! Anyway, happy savings!
A tux is easy to buy or rent and you can use it again. Whereas women get criticised for wearing the same dress twice. You can get away with a suit for those.kinds of events too
