- This video takes you step-by-step through the process of creating an acrylic pour on a new type of canvas that I surely have never seen in my Michaels before. Today I will also use a special blend of white acrylic paint that creates some cool effects.
I start off with applying a black base coat which is thinned down with American Floetrol only. No water. The ratio for the white base is 1 part paint to 3 parts Floetrol. I then add my special colors to the top of that in doodle like fashion. Colors are also mixed 1 part paint 3 parts Floetrol, no water. On top and to the side of my colors I then add my special blend of white acrylic paint with special ingredients to create a puffy cloud like appearance. The white paint [artist loft soft body acrylic] in the bottle is mixed as follows. One part paint, 1 part Floetrol, 1 part gac 800, 1 part satin enamel paint. I did not use any water in any of these colors today. Next week I will show this on a black base so you can see the strong contrast. How did you like today's video?

Another great video! I'm glad you tested the Liquitex canvas. I'd been eyeing it online but couldn't justify the cost. I'd love to get them on a regular basis, but that's beyond my means.

@Tammy those recycle canvases look good but just not sustainable from a price to product standpoint. I saw that as well at my local Michael’s. Not sure that price makes sense for the quality.

I think your theme is " swirls, all things fluid in shape and form:. I THINK THAT WOULD GIVE A VERY UNIQUE FLUIDITY TO YOUR DESIGN ON YOUR TREE AND EVEN THE TREE COULD BE TRIMMED TO LOOK LIKE FLOWING AND / OR THE ORNAMENTS (most likely in variety of flowy shapes and colors) would be placed in a flowing pattern, flowing around the tree. With your creativity and your skills, you definitely would come up with a gorgeous setup all around your home.

It's a beautiful painting as per usual, Tammy!! Reminds me of a Salvador Dali surrealistic landscape (kind of as if he came back from a Twilight Zone dream or something, but I digress!! ;) Side note: I happen to work at a Michael's store-and I have seen these canvases for a few months now and although they seem pretty sturdy-I too believe they are way overpriced!!! Your sense of humor is also online with mine (not sure if that's a good or bad thing? ;) ) Just to let you know-I'm also a mixed media artist, and I enjoy your paint videos and you recently have encouraged me to do something with the soap foam bubble technique, among other things! In fact I recently purchased a set of soap foam applicator bottles to use in creating a rainbow-inspired pour painting (we shall see what we shall see?) Wish me luck, kiddo-and keep on creatively inspiring us!!! :)

Probably takes more resources to MAKE that Eco Friendly canvas, than it saves. That is how it goes for 90+% of those type things. It's all hype and BS. Just stop making plastic water bottles and other plastic stuff. I don't use them, and I'm surviving just fine. Not an inconvenience at all. Got my stainless steel water filteration system and my glass drinking bottles. NO NEED for that toxic plastic crap that contains endocrine disrupting chemicals like BPA. Wonder why men's six parts aren't working, or their sperm count/testosterone levels are in the toilet at 25? BPA and Soy... Sh1t's in just about everything.
