This is absolutely hands down the best cover I have ever heard of this song. Brian May linked this with the caption "enjoy". Boom that's when you know it's beyond good.
They are special for sure. So many more to listen to. If you haven’t heard it yet. Listen to their version of “Say Something.” “ Kiera’s “Gold”. PTX gives a live masterclass in “Gold.”
Thank you for how you described the group. My hope is that the more people see these reactions the more new fans will come over and head down the rabbit hole of Pentatonix. They deserve so much more radio play and recognition for what they do.
A bit of trivia. Queen and their video for Bohemian Rhapsody was the very first time a music video (not just a recording of them playing), was shown on the British 'Top of the Pop's' music show. Long before MTV. Queen were on tour and couldn't make the show, so they made a video.
You have reacted to most of the "big" ones, but here's a few to think about: Mad World, New Rules x Are You That Somebody (Dua Lipa/Aaliyah mashup), Butter x Dynamite, Can't Hold Us, Problem, Attention, My Heart (from their Evergreen album), Happy Now, Radioactive, Papaoutai, Never Gonna Cry Again (from their Lucky Ones album - no video, but it is well worth the reaction), Petals (again, no video), Sing, Love Again, Cracked, Light in the Hallway, Shallow, Havana. And, we won't be mad if you react to some amazing Christmas music - Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy (Grammy #2), God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, Carol of the Bells (also know as "When does Mitch breathe"), Over the River ft. Lindsey Sterling. There's so much more, but this should give you a lot to work with.
It amazes me, that I have to remind myself several times, that there are no instruments, that's how phenomenal they are!!! Great reaction, & definitely am going to look into the headphones!
1st, I have seen video of this done live. Mitch uses the megaphone as a prop. He does the same thing with just a microphone. 2nd, Brian May of Queen has a link to this cover on his social media site. Pretty high praise.
Loved your reaction!! 💕💕 Would love to hear you react to some of their originals. Never Gonna Cry Again, Happy Now, Love Again, Sing, Coffee in Bed. So many to choose from and all sooooo good!! Please keep doing their work!
Yea! You got it unblocked! Great reaction.....soooooo much more to cover! I can hardly wait! Go ahead, curse away! When PTX first dropped this cover, Brian May posted it to his social media with the single word, “Enjoy”! Can’t get a better endorsement than that!
Thanks for your reaction! This was a difficult video for them to do as the couch was moving and tipped over easily. You would enjoy the you tube video-- making of Bohemian Rhapsody.
Good to see another PTX reaction from you Adam. I also think they are in a league of their own because of the variety of genres that they tackle and the talent of each and every member. I can't say I have a favorite member or a favorite song of theirs, I just feel that each member is so special and so many of their songs are exceptional.
Hi Adam, I'm a huge a cappella enthusiast. I must say I'm blown away that you haven't done any 'Home Free' reactions? PTX and Home Free are friends, They did "Ring of Fire" and Avi Kaplan stood in with them on that cover. I like your reactions so I'm subscribing in hopes of seeing you discover the very very deep rabbit hole of home Free? Great reactions, keep up the good work 👍👍👍👍👍
Their lives are so similar from struggles to off the charts talent. To think Freddie had a guitar, Mitch had a megaphone AS A prop, not using it to make that sound!!!
Great reaction! I highly suggest checking out their video for “Evolution of Michael Jackson” - the official video is live, they’re just singing to the camera, it’s awesome and will show you what they can do live
The whole review is captured in Adam's eye roll response to the first five notes. Says it all. What does the eye roll mean? "Ridiculously good!" "Of course!" "I should have known!" "Here they go again!" Something like that, I'm guessing. Amazing rendition and fun, fun reaction. Thanks Adam. I'm so glad you like them.
Thanks so much for your reaction to this clasic! I am old enough to remember listening to this original from Queen and like you said, no group has done a better job of paying homage to Queen like PTX. Loved hearing a Brits reaction to this amazing performance!
Thank you for this reaction Adam. I knew that you would love this!!! I love your appreciation of Pentatonix! LOL...Your comment about Mitch "Taking five...he's done now....No he's not".... Mitch had just barely begun at that point!! Please do more PTX. If you like Queen then do the PTX cover of Somebody to Love which was featured on the Queen Singalong just last year: ruclips.net/video/cMP36RB3UJU/видео.html Their album that came out in 2021 celebrating their 10th Anniversary has great originals like Happy Now, Be My Eyes (you did this one already), Coffee In Bed, The Lucky Ones (title track) and Anchor (no music video for this one). If you want more of the vocal acrobatics of Mitch then listen to 1) Aha (recorded version first) then Aha live in Singapore (I think you did this one but I don't see it now). 2) Can't Sleep Love (recorded version first) then the live from Popspring 2016. 3) Cover of Gold original version by the Kiara. To see PTX live mirroring their studio versions do the Hallelujah live version (you already did the studio version) and also Attention and Havana, studio version first then from the New York Times Experience which has a great interview with live performance of a few songs, also nice to hear them responding to questions: ruclips.net/video/QODx961CLe8/видео.html&feature=emb_logo Also do the Evolution of Michael Jackson, Beyonce, Rhiana and Ariana Grande. Just a note: The definition of A Capella is "without instrumental accompaniment" but Pentatonix has re-defined this - their voices are the instruments - we have all heard Kevin with a full drum set and clashing cymbals in the Prayer, Sound of Silence and so many other songs; Kirstie and Matt with the drone of bagpipes at the beginning of Amazing Grace; and here is Mitch with an electric guitar on his vocal cords. There are other songs where PTX has the sounds of a trumpet, fugle horn, piano keys, bells. I won't tell you which ones - just keep listening - I will keep watching your reactions. You said in one of your reactions that PTX were the masters of their game....you are so right. All five of them are superb talents, individually and collectively. How they only have three Grammy's is the greatest mystery.
Have i mentioned how much i enjoy your reactions? Oh... Yes I did. Your English accent oh.. my... melts me like butter. Your diction goes beyond many other channels. Your descriptions are rich and substantial. Oh well.. i am your fan. Thank you!
I really enjoy your reactions. You are the only reactor I've seen who has acknowledged the fact that Kevin was the one singing harmony with Mitch at the end of Bobemien Rhapsody. He sings a lot of BV when he's not adding percussion. Once one is attuned to his softer tenor voice, one can pick him out when he's singing BV. I get a kick out of watching people looking shocked and excited during his occasional solos.
This was such a great reaction. I couldn't stop watching your face! This group is so amazing. How they come up with their arrangements and ideas for videos. They are always so fantastic. And the attention to detail is impeccable.
I'm absolutely in love with everything they do. From their 90s medley to their Daft Punk mix, they impress me more and more every time! I highly recommend both of those videos on top of the ones others have mentioned.
you have just scratched the surface of the PTX playlist. Imagine is a must. I think you would also really like 90's Dance medley as well as Daft Punk medley. That should get you started. Thanks for your honest and heartfelt reactions.
@@AdamStraughan hey adam, what about another anna von hausswolff? they hoped for a name, or how many more of these or probably stranger live? and there is another norwegian lady waiting for you, her name is jenny hval and the song is year of love
My favorite thing about this video is watching people react to Mitch doing the guitar part! And Omg you have to react to their cover of Imagine! It's insanely good!
What's amazing is that you can watch live videos of them singing just in a staff room or hall where they haven't really prepared ahead of time and they just sing and it sounds just as on point other than production and sound quality because they are recorded on someone's cell phone. It's just amazing. But they honestly sound just as good live. Have you watched the live version of their Pop Spring Concert in Japan or their live version of Carol of the Bells on Christmas Under the Stars, or their live version of Aha in Japan. So amazing.
and the StageIt live stream, from 6/28/2013 before they blew up, just doing these songs live, off the cuff, and doing them perfectly, including Evolution of Music...also the Q&A parts are hilarious, one hour of them being their goofy, insanely talented selves
I love them - I listen to their music all the time (including Christmas music - it's always Christmas when PTX are around! They have so much original content that is sadly overlooked as there are not always music videos - but you should have a listen even if you don't do a reaction to them. I really respect how they are careful in their arrangements and always pay homage to the original music and musicians.
Their new song My Heart To Hold is beautiful. Makes me cry each time!! I stumbled across your channel today and was so happy to see you enjoy pentatonix as much as we do. There is a live version of Hallelujah that is amazing.
Subbed for more PTX. I suggest Mad World, When the Party's Over, Radioactive, Gold, The wizard of AHHHS, Say Something, Shallow, New RulesxAre you the Somebody, La La Latch, Attention, My Heart with You, Run to You, Love Again, Somebody that I used to Know, Can't hold us, and all the Evolution Vids
Adam, I've been waiting for you to review this one.WOW. I remember my first reaction and yours mirrored mine. What an absolute classic this is. I also have Edifier headphones and once I got them it was quite amazing how much the improved my enjoyment of music in general but especially PTX. Wonderful!!
I 'm the first one! Normally I don't comment, but I'll give you the credit now :) This is one of my favorites of PTX, and it is incredible, and I loved listen to your reaction. Their music gives me joy; they are so talented. I also like that you love listening to so many artists from Norway, since I'm a norwegian old girl (60+). It gives me new fresh look at them myself. I checked your playlist, and it seems you have not listened to PTX Imagine, which is so very beautiful. With Avi, too. And another I discovered myself today, is Mad world, with Matt. It's a rather dark song, but also very special. Thanks for your reactions.
I’ve been a subscriber since your first reaction to Angelina Jordan, and I find it hard to believe you waited this long to react to this amazing masterpiece of a cappella music.
Always glad to see your reaction to this. It’s one of my absolute favorites and I’m sure Freddie Mercury would be proud of them paying such homage to Queen. When you get the opportunity, please listen to Take My Heart With You, from the Evergreen album and the live performance from 2021 Christmas Under the Stars concert. Not a barnburner but a heart stopper. I think you’ll love it.
Your next PTX reaction should be the Kiara cover of Gold. Avi is there also. It’s 5 people sitting around on a couch doing the most amazing arrangement of a song. It truly is an upgrade. You’ll want to watch it at least 5 times concentrating on each person’s part. It’s amazing.
I am so glad you are reacting to them again. I would love to see what you think of new rules x are you that somebody. Matt and Kevin create Timbalands beats that he needed lots of equipment to do. I think you will be blown away. They for sure are in a league of their own!!
So glad you enjoyed this! Freddie would have been so proud of this cover. I love that Brian was happy with it and gave amazing compliments. I love PTX! Great reaction again. Much love from the north west 🏴❣️
Great reaction!! Love this song. Wondering if you ever listened to the Band Home Free? They're also an amazing a capella group. 5 men They're a all vocal country band. Man of Constant Sorrow is a cover from the movie Brother where art thou, or their cover of When a Man Loves a Woman. Please give them a chance they will also put you in amazement.
PTX is Epic, and this cover was really over the top. And I agree Mitch did a great job of the lead. I am convinced that Mitch is Freddie reincarnated. This song is proof of that . I really don't think any other group could do better, especially an a cappella group. Pentatonix is just so far ahead of everyone else.
You need to check out Avi's solo work! Amazing two of his most popular Change on the Rise, and First Place I Go. One of my favorites is Song For The Seeker. And another that highlights his beautiful bass range is Black is the Color of my True Loves Hair with Peter Hollens. Pick anything there isn't a bad one in the batch. Look forward to seeing these.
If you want some more Avi checkout his solo stuff! He's absolutely incredible. You have to listen to 'Change on the Rise' it's haunting and will later h onto you at a soul deep level
@ Adam I just discovered you and subscribed. You deserve it bc you respond to your viewers which I appreciate. You probably know by now but the reason (perhaps in part) is that Scott, Kirstin, and Mitch attended high school in Austin TX and they were in theatrical classes together. So each performance is truly a work of art. Test it 😁 by watching without volume - bc you can see and FEEL it.
@@AdamStraughan Maybe you can and will, but I won't fault you if not 😁, but I have a request for a song, it's a not PTX. It's an original. I'm asking bc anyone who has had someone pass away, this song can bring uplifting comfort to their soul. My best friend who was my spouse passed away from cancer, but meanwhile my mother was 400 miles away and I never got to say goodbye bc she passed the same time. My dad just passed this Father's day, and I also never got to say goodbye. So this song has meaning, and I'm sure not just to me. The Artist's are twin sisters and they have a father who is also well known for music. The girl's name is 'Dani and Lizzy'. I'll leave the tag below bc I prefer 'this' earlier version to "Dancing in the Sky". ruclips.net/video/YNoLJy68ZcE/видео.html&feature=share
Since you like show tunes you need to check out The wizzard of ahhhhhs by todrick hall ft pentatonix!!!! But what a fantastic reaction to this song !!!!

League of their own = Fact! Thank you for this wonderful reaction and review! Outstanding! Keep it up my friend! Cheers mate!!!
Love your reaction so much! Brilliant! 👍
Your reaction!!! I love you. Do more there is so much more. Imagine..Mary did you know. Can you feel the love ....please do more
I’ve reacted to all three of your suggestions already!
I love watching you watching them!
Recommend their Rather Be, Come Along, and Happy Now.
We call that when you get an ear full of Mitch, THE MITCH SLAPPED
Glad this video got rescued from the blocked pile.
They are otherworldly 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
@ Adam
I just discovered you and subscribed.
Thank you!
