    You make a point that your measured thicknesses are off. I have a calibrated, high-end caliper, and I find the T thickness to be 0.1920 which is thicker than advertised, although with the variance of my calipers, the thickness is within spec. I would suggest before making a public statement that the thicknesses are below spec, that you check on the accuracy of your device used for measuring. These knives are built to exceedingly high accuracies, and Greg Medford is an honest guy, so if he says his knives are 0.19 and 0.26, you can count on each knife meeting their specs. If your measuring doesn't meet the published numbers, then your measuring device is off.

      Interesting point. However agree publicly states his published numbers are inaccurate on purpose to prevent clones.

      Dirk Werning So, as you know, this is one that i feel “very strongly” about. Others can get the heat treat way more consistently. If your waiting for a year to 18 months for “any nice heat treat outcome” as unpredictable this process is, thats more than enough time for you to get something that looks half way decent. Man, I shouldn’t even be going here right now, it was all a long time ago and its done. I went elsewhere and got what i consider to be a nice looking version of the heat treat result. You know the whole story so i don’t need to go into the details.

      Dirk Werning Cheers man, you know what happened and I’m sure many others went through the same thing. The best way to get an awesome one is to buy one after its been already made as opposed to ordering one in a. Style and finish that you have chosen. I’m sure the 2nd hand market has a few these days.

    Nice comparison, great looking blades.....Do you think Medford would ever make a scaled down version of the TFF model?

    • @DirkWerning
      @DirkWerning  4 года назад +2

      not sure I doubt it. There are 3 versions of the TFF-1 right now. Well technically 4 as the original version has changed in the current offering. I ‘might’ have an original version inbound...

      Dirk Werning great..would like to see it...thanks. For me it has the best ergos, since they are making smaller version, I think it would be a great option. I think I’ve found that any model smaller than the Coloniel is too small for me, the midi just hits the sweet spot.
