I agree his most beautiful solos are not blues, but have blues roots, I believe he took minor pentatonic (blues typical scale) to another level with some addings that not always work inside blues but work beautifully ouside. Recognizing and listing those addings keep me awake...
Great job, as you say, CLapton sounds Bluessy even if the song is not. i go further, Clapton sounds Clapton. Which are the things that make Clapton sound Clapton? what are the common factors on different solos that distinguish them from others?, that´s my quest, and your compilations saved me hours of work. thanks. i´ll keep you update and mention your credits of course
Thanks for bringing this up. I never considered the question before, so I just spent some time researching it. My ear hears two different guitars in the song, and one is definitely Eric and the other is definitely not, but I still can't figure out the solo just by listening. And I found separate reviews online that attributed Albert and Eric, each. But -- the song was played live in Seattle in 1983, so I listened to that. It features a rendition of this same solo, clearly played by Albert. A second solo is played afterward by Eric.
That song is Love Don't Love Nobody. If you expand the video description there's a complete list of all the songs and timestamps, and a playlist although some of the videos in the playlist are no longer available.
In my whole life I have never heard an other guitarist that had a connection between his fingers and his soul. Clapton is unique

I have always wondered who plays the solo of my little girl 1983, Eric or Albert Lee
