not those particular rocks but i've stood on those type of rocks around sydney, sooo slippery. gotta love when you cut yourself up on the way out, to surf a reef solo haha. this is exactly like a wave here called backsides, it's been just out of my reach on a bike but i'm so psyched to make a clip of it. sickest waves. i dunno if you've ever surfed jakes point it's exactly the same but bigger it's like the deeper you go the more mental. sick outro

This reef is incredibile! Like our reef in west coast 😊
is it a sharp reef or a softer kind of one? we have one here too super shallow but like a sponge it's so soft. so similar though
@@byronbaybarrels we have many reefs in the west like hard but flat tables, and others with scattered rocks even pointed semi-outcropping, one in particular is called "the box" in theaupoo style, a bodyboarder friend of mine took a left which launched him head first on a rock, smashed the helmet and 30 days in the hospital, without the helmet he would have been dead, some surfers had carried him out without conscience. Inveve to the south there are the reef points on cobblestones, longer and quieter.

Yeah like the guy said above ⬆️ the reef in this video and a lot of my other ones… it’s very spongy and quite SOFT (at least for reef breaks) haha so doesn’t hurt as much as the tropical reefs like in Bali

That’s my local!!!! No idea why you rock jumped though. Just paddle out in the rip from the lagoon. Easy peasy even when maxing out. That spot is built for bodyboards though. Too shallow and fast for the stick.

Thank you so much!! Using a GoPro hero 10 with a hero 9 lens cover (old lens lets me lick/dunk it so I can get rid of all the water drops… it doesn’t work on the newer versions 10-12)
