Kansas, Kansas State, and Colorado- when not playing Nebraska or each other, they lost ZERO games. The Big 8 went out with one hell of a final hurrah- a legendary nat. champion and 3 quality teams in the top 10 who all won their bowl games impressively.
+Chris Kreager They almost did the same thing in 1971, with Nebraska, Oklahoma, Colorado, and Iowa State. But Iowa State lost its bowl to LSU, making the '71 Big Eight top four have one loss to teams outside the conference.
gynandroidhead And the three Big 8 teams won their bowl games by a combined score of 143-57. Florida won the national title the following year with essentially the same team.
Excellent point made about the Big 8 bowl games. When Nebraska played these four top-ten teams, they were in the top ten WHEN they played them, and they (obviously) all FINISHED in the top ten (2, 5, 7, and 9).
@Zalis116 Kansas streak ended under BC, but Solich went 2-4 vs KSU (Callahan was 3-1). Its a bit of a spin to credit the 1998, 2000, 2002, and 2003 KSU losses on Callahan.
well KU like i said should have replaced CU in 1995 fiesta bowl. And No KU would have to have beaten ND which had 4 losses. Not UF, But NEBRASKA WAS UNREAL!!!! Classic fan base!!! THANKS FOR UR OPINION!! hope Huskers do well!!!
Haha ya thanks again!!! I might have mixed them up. BUT I guess u know ur stats better. So anyway I will be rooting u on!!! and KU this year in football. well has not looked good.
Might be mixing seasons... CU vs Notre Dame Fiesta Bowl was following the 1994 season. CU had beaten KU that year in Lawrence. In 1995 KU smacked CU around in Boulder then CU ended up in the Cotton Bowl vs Oregon. Half the Big 8 was in the top 10! so KU probably didn't get as good a bowl in 95 as they may have otherwise. GBR! & RockChalk!
Theres more examples than just 92 on the huskers. Bob is an excellent coach at doing less with more. Big 12 needed him to lose today anyway. TCU or Baylor is only chance they have of getting in. Nebraska needs mizzou to win out and win sec title game if they want in. If that played out perfectly you could see mizzou, Nebraska and Baylor in Playoff. A most unlikely big 12 reunion.
John Barkley no i agree with you. I said he does LESS with MORE. The only team to underachieve more than oklahoma is texas. Do they really want stoops gone, even after sugar bowl last year? And do they really want to be in the market for a had coach at the same time as michigan and florida?
And no one would know from looking at this that ku out played nebraksa and the first half, and Nebraska was out of sync offensively til the second half frazier had 2 int and the team as a whole I think had 5 turnovers.
KU "should have appeared" in the Fiesta?... you mean if Nebraska didn't exist in '95? They would have had to beat Florida as well to become Fiesta "winners". KU had a great team that season but they also lost to KSU by a similar score (41-7). KSU/KU/CU all lost to Nebraska and to eachother that year.
That Kansas Team was UNREAL!!!! And that Nebraska team. Was the best in country easy!! KU SHould have appeared in 1995 fiesta bowl. Because beat cU. that year. So 1995 fiesta bowl winners. KU!!!!

Jeez, I'm just trying to put Nebraska's 1995 dominance in perspective.

The 1995 Huskers beat four, top-ten teams by a combined score of 49-18 that had a combined record of 42-7.

@Zalis116 I think everything was broken during the Callahan years........
You're right, I don't know what I was thinking there. I was even at the 2000 loss in Manhattan. Maybe I was thinking Oklahoma State or something, idk.
nostalgia overload.
How about the season N'western had, gotta love Pat and what he's done for that team!
And he’s gone.

@huskersva Yeah, you're right. And I should've known better, because I was even at the 2000 KSU-NU game in Manhattan.

Wanna know why it ended up this way? Type in "Husker Pump Up Video 1995"......
That's all you need.........
And no one would be misleads by how great the buskers were then deposited the fact that they demolished kansas 41-3.
John Barkley
whoa there lets not get crazy
John Barkley
Things are getting way better for mizzou. I just cant figure out the indiana game. What the hell happened.

But finished 2nd that year and Beat CU that year in FOLSOM FIELD!!!!

Too bad the win streaks over Kansas and K-State were broken during the Callahan years.
the win streaks were gonna end eventually..it wouldnt have lasted forever...
Um 98 was not callahan (k state)
What? Solich got his arse handed to him at home against KSU. Worst home loss in 44 years.
This year Missouri team is better than Nebraska.
You talking 2014? STFU with your stupidity.
@@GeorgeFlippin I'm guessing you are black since G Flippin was. You sure throw stupidity around a lot. Deflection?
