It will work just fine..... the PAG oil on a 1234yf system is compatible with the 134a refrigerant. The only bad part, if you want to call it bad, is that you are violating the law. And we all know how we feel about the EPA right?
I heard that they take different oils for each type of gas in the system
Nice job explaining the refrigerant swap but you have to o evacuate the system in order to do so👍
How much gas R134a i need instead 500ml R1234YF?
Please don't put 134a in 1234yf systems. You will contaminate the system if you mix the gasses. A proper shop with a service machine will identify that it is not 1234yf and has to recover that into a dump tank which will cost you more money. Just repair it the correct way.
Saw it done first hand (may or may not have been a relative of mine). AC was warm. The R1234yf system was at 20lbs. Filled up with 134a to 50lbs. Ice cold air. Zero issues with the mixed gases. Maybe it will fail someday. Don't know and this is not advice, just an observation.
