    Great lookin ride sir, can’t wait to hear more debrief on the test flight phase.. It would be good to hear an experienced builder/pilot explain his thought process on a test phase of a new airplane🤷🏻‍♂️ So many skip over that part..

    Anything new about the -4? I know you’re busy with the move and all, but I would love to hear about some numbers! I recently bought a flying 180hp -4 and I’m having a blast with it!

      Yeah it’s been busy to say the least. Airplane hasn’t moved since being moved to Moose Jaw. The airport here is under construction also.
      The fairings are also not fully installed.
      Here is what I see right now:
      Takeoff - amazing
      Climb initially 2500 fpm. At 8000 ft I’m about 1500 fpm
      Cruise is fast. After gear leg fairings I’ll have to reduce power at 9500 to stay below VNE. About 182 kts but more to follow.
      On another note it’s running hot. I’ll be honest about all of it in later videos but oil temps need to come down. Even on cool days it’s running 205-207 but that was expected when we started this project.
      Thanks for asking and sorry for the lack of updates - life out rules flying

      @@stusaircraftfactory6592 wow, nice little rocketship. 205 to 207, is that the oil temp? That’s not bad.. I wonder if that engine has piston squirters, that would contribute to the heat.. How did your #3 mod work out? I did a quick mod by putting some washers between the baffle and the #3 cylinder, that alone really helped, then I also did a little strip of aluminum tape on #1 which evened out the CHT temp spread.

    • @stusaircraftfactory6592
      @stusaircraftfactory6592  3 года назад +1

      @@thomasaltruda yes oil temp. It’s not bad but going to be issue in summer when x-country multiple hops. Originally it was 217 before modify oil cooler a bit.
      CHT are all very close so mod #3 works nicely .

    Woohoo! Would love to hear more about that 409 stroker setup. Is that the rotating assemble from AC-Aero?

    • @stusaircraftfactory6592
      @stusaircraftfactory6592  3 года назад

      Not sure what you mean rotating assemble. You talking about air intake?

    • @thomasaltruda
      @thomasaltruda 3 года назад

      @@stusaircraftfactory6592 I meant rotating assembly.. meaning the crank, rods and pistons to make it a stroker.

    • @stusaircraftfactory6592
      @stusaircraftfactory6592  3 года назад

      @Thomas Altruda Ah I see. It’s not a assembly kit per se. Its a Bart Lalonde specialty
