TODAY WE VISIT “57” CLIQUE AKA: Avenues 13 ONE OF LA’s MOST DANGEROUS GANGS IN THE 1990’s - 2000’s In North East Los Angeles, CA.
Now today gentrification hits them hard but they still mange to keep a strong present throughout their whole Avenues. You can see graffiti everywhere but yes now it’s 2024 at the date of this video & times have definitely changed! I don’t know if it’s for the worse or the better!
But yes this is Exploring their entire section/clique “57” Anyways! Thank you so much for watching! I’ll see you guys next time⚠️💪🏻!
THIS IS LOS ANGELS, CA!
FILMED AND EDITED BY : ME ;)
THANK YOU GUYS!!
SEE YA NEXT TIME ;)
Stay safe & Dangerous!
A lot had changed. You can tell by the way he is riding around freely cause back then he wouldn't even make it out that alley at the beginning of the video😮
No. They wouldn't fuck with people that don't look gang affiliated
@@sicboy-yd5bithe avenues did
Foo back then gangs was disrespectful af fools would post up in front of people lawn with a boom box throw shit at people flip people off if they told em anything still is like that till this very day@@2ez369
A Gangland documentary on the Avenues began with the introduction explaining an attack at night, on a family leaving their friends house after a party. All innocent civilians on Avenues turf. They possibly have multiple hoods right?
Those places bring back memories. There was a time in the late 80s and early 90s where you couldn’t drive down some streets in Highland Pk, Glassell Pk, Cypress Pk and Frogtown, especially at night.
Still dangerous gang activity but nowhere as frequently violent as before.
Thanks for sharing
I was in county with Avenues, they had the best Tattoos I’ve ever seen. Amazing detail amazing art.
Nice vid Rodney! One thing I admire, you don’t just make videos about the different hoods. You visit each hood and interact with the individuals.
This one was fire homie good job deserves a like🔥💯 nobody makes vids like these straight up 🔥

Naw 4real . I understand he tryna look out but I don't think real bangers / members don't pay attention to old bums . Im a member now at 37 . When I was young n wild I didn't pay them no mind only the young trophy who I was looking 4
@@Ogc1ty Exactly. I don't mean any disrespect to the gangsters but like you said, real gangsters ain't worried about their elders like that. Only an evil bully would mess with elders.
@@therebarcholo3363 Gang member aint gonna mess with old heads lol They care about other youngsters
I live like 2 blocks away from that Culebra park been going there with my dad since I was 3yrs. It changed A LOT A TON, unfortunately due to gentrification, but let’s not underestimate because they are around I still see em around and I am always careful and respectful everywhere I go
This park seems like a great place for birding, I hear lots of them in vid. These dudes she get a birding field guide some binoculars and try to ID some of the local species.
😂 old head don’t give af cuz only lil ass Edgar’s bang nowadays. Unless ur a bum w no job

That lil park you visited in the cut was awesome!!! you must been there before to know where it was thats dope

Beautiful place but you would have to live there to know the good and bad stories.
I grew up in Highland Park in the 90s-2000..some of it's good memories, some, well a lot of people I knew died young, drugged out, prison, or moved. Gentrification is a MF. I still have family there. Might go visit soon. But at their house! 😂 not going on no field trip. Lol it's bittersweet tbh. Like I'm still an LA baby at heart always(even tho not a baby anymore)😂 I made my decisions to move forward.
Oh man I never laughed so hard when that guy yelled "Hey" at those stairs.
Love these types of vids. Make more of these bro, but stay safe. Im a pizza delivery guy and be all around places like these at ungodly hours of the night. Always keeping my head on a swivel. Seen some shit unfortunately 😅
I use to work at food4less on Figueroa and avenue 51 i thought they would give me problems cuz of the racial history but i was actually one of the few blaccs who was embraced by that community one of the most crazy experiences i ever had I'll always have mad love for highland park they showed me a side of east LA that i never knew existed💯
Aves treated you good?
@@OddFunkVolume i was real tight with the oldest living member from that hood i use to give him change and look out for him wenever my boss gave him problems there was real ones always pulling up to checc on him and he told them about me and told them not to try anything with me i recently pulled up over there hoping he would be around there were a few other ogs from over there who also embraced me they told me they look out for good people and could tell i was a good person they really fucced with me heavy and then i ended up dating a chicc from that area as well her whole family is big hazard and avenues and she would take me all thru east LA with her mom and show me their favorite spots i had alot of fun there and met alot of cool people💯
I don't think Highland Park is considered East LA.
@@arao888 definitely is my boy northeast la actually the avenues claim some territory over there also
2:37 I love how the park looks. tucked and hidden away, like in a fairy tale
It’s crazy to think that in my mind Highland Park wasn’t that dangerous. I grew up there and watching you ride through Longfellow Avenue reminded me that it was always dangerous. I had a Homie that lived on Longfellow right across those apartments and I always remember our parents telling us whatever you do don’t mess with the people in those apartments and when I got older, we got cool with some of them, and they were definitely affiliated. But it’s also crazy because somehow we civilians always knew the rules and so long as we follow the rules the gangsters would leave us punk rockers alone.
Memories from Culebra. We use to be deep there in the 90s. That's the Culebra. 57 park is around the corner on via Marisol
My bad you knew about the park. 😂
Do one on Crazys.
I ended my high speed chase there in those stairs on 57th accidentally back in 2015... nobody ran when i pulled into the dead end up there! They just stepped aside and let me run by😂
I was born in highland park but my dad moved us out of there when I was 6 years old cause my older brother was getting into a lot of trouble. I loved it there. The streets were nice and small. It was cool till shots rang out 😂
It looks like a nice neighborhood
I lived on Ave 53 where you were. Nothing bad happened there. And it’s hipster a few blocks away
Lots of memories lived there for 4 years three houses down from la Culebs 94-98 if I recall
BTW do you ride a Mountain bike or a fixie bike ?
I’m from south central, I stay the hell out of NELA. It’s different, and hood for sure.
Yeah, they blast Ducks.
All that banging shit is gone dont get me wrong is still active but we already 2024 like seriously bro get a job make a living ...
Just because they don't be out high profiling in or see them in the street doesn't mean it's over . There still lookouts and know exactly what's going on in the hood ready to press the issue.
no one ever has referred to them as avenues 13 …. just avenues and sometimes they’ll throw in which click they belong to (drew, cypress, 57) etc. but never avenues 13 , same goes for highland park … you can tell you’re not from that area
I used to live on Monte Vista and Ave 52 back in the early 2000s. Never had big issues.
That's closer to dogtowns Ave 53 Monte Vista clique that's why the Aves be in the 50s but not up there they closer to figg n shi towards York n monte Vista is Hlp, eagle Rock and Dogtowns cliques over there
Careful
If no one knows is 2006 Los Angeles had a gang sweep now and days it's not the same no more just a lot of paranoia
Do one in the Rascals hood
Shoutout to the homie Minor from Aves 57 Cyclones! Did time with him in county.

It’s still active tho that’s never gonna end
It will end at some point.
This is where Edward Ferlung grew up.
You got HLP nearby as well,.. hot area. but that's all Hipster territory, they own Fig and York streets, I wonder if they get taxed? Anyways good video coverage

I don’t think he was checking him. He was warning him. Which was smart.
The dude wasn’t homeless he said he was selling. Which is not a good idea since your in The Avenues hood. That could get you into a wreck real quick.
And about him not running into any foos from The Avenues. Probably because it’s morning time or in the middle of the day.

LA isn’t the same. I have family in Boyle Heights and visit often from Arizona. There is tagging everywhere but I never see gangsters/cholos. I go out during the day and I’m out at night hitting the taco trucks in the hood. Unless gangsters no longer have bald heads and wear skinny jeans, idk?

1970's cholos were rougher than 1990's, as rough as they were. Chains and bats were part of the picture in the 1970's. Those who lived through it, wish to forget that era. Oof. The 1990's cholos learned from the 1970's gangs. That's how they learned.
1970s/80s/90s gang era of LA averaged over 2000 murders no place in America compares to those ultra violent times

Is stupid to begin banging out there in LA is too damn pretty man. If I was out there I'd be making money and getting women too much opportunity for Raza out there. Up North there's nothing to Do but get into trouble
More opportunity up North in tech industry. Problem is Raza doesn't see it. Some context: I'm from down South up North in tech industry.
In Contrast, getting in the LA entertainment industry is much harder than getting into tech.
Depends on where you go, same with up North. Bad parts of the Bay, Tenderloin, Oakland, bad parts of L.A South Central, Compton, etc. @@Calihoodjournal4
U say that bc your looking in from the outside, northeast la is gentrified, but aouth central, watts etc aint. This is the gang capital for a rzn theres been bodies dropping everynight 2024
@@ShallNotMurder-rf9okmost of it is on the peninsula and Silicon Valley rest of up north is not based on tech and ever since Covid a lot of tech buildings are now vacant and ppl lost their jobs
Nevertheless, you're closer to those tech companies with a commute. Many more AI startups are springing up taking those vacancies.
If you have a unique idea you don't even have to be technical. Just find a problem you face everyday and bring your solution to a hackathon (many free ones) where you will find eager coders/investors.
People from all over the world flock to Silicon Valley with ideas to build their product with zero technical knowledge. You can't do that in Hollywood unless you already have credentials that precede you.
