Immunoglobulins are an important part of immune systems. These molecules are instrumental for defending against viruses, bacteria, helminths, etc. These molecules are also the main player in allergies. The wonderful thing about immunoglobulins is their genetics, class switching and structure. This series of lectures focuses on these aspects of the immunoglobulins. ...

These videos have saved me for my immunology exam! The world needs more people like you. Thank you so much.
mumen tageldin - you are welcome. Immunology is a very important discipline of medical sciences. Knowing it thoroughly is important for medical practitioners. Glad the lectures are helping understand it better.
thank you dr mobeen I watched all your lecture and for the first time immunology makes sense
Thank u so much sir...4 this wonderful video...its make me very easy to understand the genetics of immunoglobulins...thank u sir...🙏🙏🙏🙏
Amazing video! Thank you for the explanation and for this entire playlist for that matter.
+Darrrn Kuhn you are most welcome. Glad that you liked the video. We have compiled all videos on RUclips and more (CNS, CVS, Pulmonology, Microbiology, etc) and placed them on drbeen.com. Looking forward to your visit there!
Thank you Dr. Mobeen, your lectures are very useful for me,,god bless you and we wish more from you
Ashish Chaubey - thank you and pathology coming soon!
Thank you from the University of Kansas. This was an excellent explanation.
You are welcome. Glad lecture is excellent!
+neurobiogirl please visit drbeen.com. We have compiled and placed all lectures there too, plus CNS, CVS, Pulmonary system, 3D atlases, etc.
Thanks. Great video!!! It helps me a lot
Most wonderful lectures, hope u teach pathology too..thanks sir
I believe that only the heavy chain has the D (diversity) component within the chain. The light chain is without the D component this is the identifying characteristic to determine between the two. Just thought I would clarify. This was helpful regardless. The more pictures the better! Thanks
thank you Dr. I am now understand how DNA rearrangement , but I would like to ask you about some question
why a individual B cell can only make antibodies of one specificity ?
why there is allelic exclusion in Ig allotype in the organism as a whole?
You are most welcome Junaid Sardar. More lectures are coming...
cmanks123 you are welcome. Glad that you are saved now :-) study well!
Thank you sir !!!! That was really helpful !! :D
you sir are awesome
Thank you. Do you know we have more lectures on drbeen.com?
As far as I am concerned alternate splicing of the mRNA occurs in the nucleaus itself. Only when the mRNA is fully processed, it'll be transported outside the nucleaus to the cytoplasm.
Thanks for the lecture, but I can't get the last part, where you're talking about poly A tail and dependency of Ig release on it.
Poly A tail is a mRNA modification, Ig is a protein, how can it have a polyA tail?
Can you give a small explanation on it?
Many Thank you Sir , it's help me more
You are welcome Aya Khaled. Good to know that lectures are helpful. Study well!
Thank you sir, you made immunology easy for me..... i am slightly confused sir, which Poly A Tail attaches to Cell membrane of B-cell ? Hydrophilic or Hydrophobic ?
Depends at the state of IgM. If it is to be stuck on the cell membrane then the hydrophobic Poly A Tail will be used. Think about it, hydrophobic poly A tail will not wan to get out of cell. On the other hand the released IgM will have hydrophilic poly A tail so it can like the fluids and happily swim.
thank you very much sir.... :-)
thank you Dr. Syed from Shiraz University of Medical Sciences
You are most welcome! Do you study there?
Yes, I'm studying medicine here and just completed my fifth semester.
Great. Study well. Checkout drbeen.com for more lectures. And, let me know if you need help with any topic.
Of course I'll, thanks again for your response. :)
Cool!
How does a hydrophobic poly A tail differ from a hydrophilic poly A tail? Hydrophobic and hydrophilic refer to amino acids, not nucleotides, as best as I know.
This represents an amazing research project involving many groups....The RSS site is a recognition site...That is, the RAG finds the site based upon the specific 12 or 22 bases???...I guess the real question is this: For a specific antigen, how does the genetics know which v...d....j....to use to make DNA that will translate into into an amino acid sequence that will fold into the correct shape to make the correct antibody?? I assume that this is not understood. I am not criticizing you...the video is good.
its 23 bases! 12/23 rule not 22 just reminding not trying to be rude
Thank you Dr. Mobeen, your lectures are very useful for me,,god bless you and we wish more from you
