Both of my mounting brackets fit under the seat brackets. One advantage of under is if a thief takes a quick look at it, you can't see how it bolts down and it looks more difficult to remove.
Question for ya... On the raised bracket, on the jeep, there is what looks like a sloppy weld job that is preventing the storage bracket from sitting flush. I see your jeep has the same thing. Did yours sit flush, or did you remove some of the weld? Mine weld looks larger than yours. Think I should shave mine down?
I didn't have to remove any welds, it sat pretty flush. I see the what looks like the weld you're talking about and it doesn't seem to hinder the box from being secure. Wish I could help better, sorry. Thanks for watching
